There is really no other organization like the Pachamama Alliance - driven by passion to envision a just, sustainable, fulfilling world for all beings and grounded in such deep integrity and authenticity. Since volunteering at the annual luncheon last year I have participated in several events: Awakening the Dreamer symposium, Game Changer Intensive, Awakening the Dreamer facilitator training, etc. Pachamama Alliance not only offers the tools to create a better world, they empower individuals to become change makers and instill confidence that we all have a role to play in addressing huge issues like climate change. And the alliance is 95% individual donor funded, giving them even greater integrity (not being funded by corporations with special interests.)

After years of climate activism, I was burned out. I learned of Pachamama Alliance and their mission statement resonated with me. “bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, socially just human presence on this planet”. Each meeting began with a grounding exercise showing the importance of nurturing your own soul. Their free classes were the perfect blend of community, resources and individual reflection. They met with my group monthly for years to support and encourage our work. This has allowed our local group to remain, active, committed and energized for the last 8 years.

Pachamama Alliance has been transformational to me because the organization has given hope and purpose to my life. It began with their course "Awakening the Dreamer" which I highly recommend everyone take. Since then, I have brought their mission of "bringing forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, socially just human presence on this planet" to my local community. The individuals I have met through this organization are wise, focused activists and the PA staff have been incredibly supportive of our local group named "Chicagoland Co-hearts".

Just like Amazon Watch and Rainforest Action Network, Pachamama Alliance is doing great work to help preserve the Amazon Rainforest. In my reading on environmental issues, Patchamama Alliance has the best educational outreach of any organization in the environmental movement.

I have taken 3 classes with Pachamama and facilitated one. What I love about this organization is the emphasis on relationship with indigenous people and support of women and children - not as a sideline, but as essential to actually working on addressing climate change. I have made good friends through the classes, and continue to meet with them via Zoom. One of the groups continued as a book group and we have studied some fascinating books and had supportive and useful discussions about them.

I have volunteered with them and taken just about everything they have offered. I have never been disappointed in them. I have met many wonderful people by being involved with them.

I am an avid volunteer with Pachamama Alliance . I have been with them for well over 10 years. I facilitated Awakening the Dreamer Symposiums for many of those years. I've met the leadership in the organization by attending their annual luncheons in San Francisco and San Diego. I've traveled with them to Ecuador to experience first hand the lives of some of the most remote indigenous tribes in South America. These tribes were the inspiration for the establishment of Pachamama Alliance. I looked at them from top to bottom and from experience declare them, "The Best".

The Pachamama Alliance is one of the most relevant groups in these times of transitions. They connect worldwide with individuals and communities to weave together three key aspects of our lives today: environmental sustainability, social justice, and a strong spiritual connection. This is a unique group, and I've continued to grow with their workshops and my ever-expanding global community that the PA provides.

Their workshops and trips are all important ways to grow and contribute as we move through the great turning. Thank you Pacha People!!!

I have known about the PA and its excellent work for years, and in 2016 I met some of the staff at the Transitions and Permaculture event in Hopland, CA. The direct, specific exercises on leadership, and their personable attitudes led me to connect with the PA more deeply.
Since that time I have been a volunteer for the PA, helping in the initial development of the course based on Drawdown, attending events, and traveling on their Game Changer Journey to the Amazon [see photos]. Meeting the Achuar and other indigenous people directly has deepened my respect and appreciation for the work PA does. Their founders and all the staff are caring, genuine individuals who recognize the critical role of community in our transition world.
Their vision, mission, and commitment continue to move me, and I am intensely supportive of the work of the PA. We have just announced the debut of the Humboldt Pachamama Community here in Arcata, CA, where we will continue the work of PA through the workshops and events they provide.
I could add to 'my role' that of 'expertise in this field' for the work I'm doing with them on computer mapping; this keeps me involved, learning, and excited. I am truly a GROUNDED OPTIMIST, as described in the PA course materials and videos.
Some final notes - the workshop development and events done by the PA are extremely professional, their videography is excellent, and the international network of communities is exciting, impressive, and inspirational!

I have been a member of the Pachamama Alliance for close to 20 years. Their work brings together our modern world with the indigenous peoples living in a remaining pristine part of the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador and Peru. This work has been transformative, through PA's support and in developing and empowering the skills needed to preserve the natural resources of the Amazon, the indigenous cultures and protect the Amazon from further extraction by the fossil fuel and logging industries. Their vision says it all: creating an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, socially just human presence on this planet—a New Dream for humanity.
Pachamama has developed and delivered extensive educational programs around the globe to teach people in the "modern world" about indigenous wisdom and their relationship to the natural world -- wisdom and knowledge that can be applied to the crisis we face in the deteriorating environment of our planet.

Pachamama Alliance is one of the most impactful nonprofits I've ever volunteered for, and donated to, and maybe even the most impactful of them all. I was affected so much by my first experience with them, their free Awakening the Dreamer Symposium, that I learned how to become a Symposium facilitator. I then took it to the next level and attended the Game Changer Intensive (GCI) which I have now moderated several times over the past few years. I think the GCI could be offered as foundational volunteer training for people involved in almost any other nonprofit also working to create an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, and socially just future for us all. I also love connecting with people from many different countries that are also drawn to these offerings. I highly recommend this nonprofit to others.

Pachamama Alliance is wonderfully game-changing organization that is supporting people passionate about environmental justice to learn how to live our values within a purposeful community. My journey with Pachamama began about 5 years ago when I was feeling impotent and depressed about the state of humans relationship with the more-than-human world. Pachamama alliances free online community based educational programs and trainings have helped me to cultivate grounded optimism and educated me to take informed action on issues I care about in meaningful and impactful ways. Traveling with our teenage daughters on a Journey with Pachamama to learn from the Sapara and Achuar communities in the Ecuadorian Amazonian jungle was the most enriching and mind-opening experience we have shared as a family. If you are longing for community and support to live your values more fully with respect to creating an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just human presence on Earth, I highly recommend connecting with the alliance and choosing to participate in one of their online programs or in-person journeys.

Every now and then I heard "Pachamama this... Pachamama that..." and everybody around me seemed to know what this was about. I knew it should be something good, since I appreciated the people talking about it. It took me some years to investigate further by myself... and falling in love with Pachamama Alliance was very quick! In one of his newsletters David Spangler quoted the Drawdown project, this was the last impulse I needed.
I went to the website, searched and got immediate contact to real people, many individuals sharing a language of the heart with me. Direct, open, authentic friendly... I started by engaging myself with translations of Drawdown materials. This activity increases my sense of belonging and at the same time I am free to discover so much more... Pachamama Alliance's website its huge, it is like a big birthday present I unpack... and find so much to draw upon!!!! Sometimes I take part at webinars, again a wonderful chance to nurture my care and my love for Life. I do bow to the deep commitment of the team behind all that...
Pachamama has been a word we use now at home, I refer to it and my child knows what I am talking about. The good and blessed energy of all it involves is part of our daily lives in the most gentle and genuine way!

I have been involved with the Pachamama Alliance since 2012 and it has become a community that grounds my life and empower me into action! From my first transforming experience at an Awakening the Dreamer program, then another indescribable Journey into the Amazon - my heart was opened in new ways and my worldview transformed forever! From that new indigenous vision of the interconnectedness of all life, I am fully immersed in the mission of the organization - helping create a world that is environmentally sustainable, socially just and spiritually fulfilling. This organization has given me a community (national, global and local) that has empowered me into personal growth and action. The empowering leadership/culture of the PA has been a model to me in creating and growing our own local Pachamama and Drawdown communities in the Rochester NY area. I am so grateful and encourage everyone to learn more! Go to www.pachamama.org. First I recommend watching the Awakening the Dreamer on-line course! Then the on-line version of the Introduction to Drawdown! And then go deeper with the 8 week webinar - Game Changer Intensive! There's so much to learn and action to take as we create the better world we want for future generations! And always with the support of community! Thank you Pachamama Alliance for opening doors to my heart, community and the world!

The impact the Awakening the Dreamer - Changing the Dream had on individuals in our community in the Sea to Sky Corridor of British Columbia, BC was simply profound. People from all walks demonstrated a deep connection with the materials throughout each phase & Swiamish residents touched by the event supported it through a heavy snow fall, a myriad of other conflicting events and many didn't want to leave the event afterwards, staying on to talk for hours about potential next steps. Our experience felt supported yet challenged us to work through the material as partners in the venture, inspiring a rich curiosity around each phase of the material, and we enjoyed the additional time spent Together working out the kinks [now ironed out by this highly accountable organization. Their integrity & forthrightness are a balm to the spirit & we have so much gratitude for our hearts have been blown wide by the material & intention behind it that mived through us all that day. Pachamama Alliance is, in so many ways, the answer to the question I had long been asking: is there a single non-profit organization that resonates with my values and my Vision that I can align my life with? Last year, I realized that I was a member of numerous organizations that were all doing good work on the whole, but that I was doing little of that work myself. Though each organization had meaning for me, only Pachamama Alliance connected with me in a holistic, affirming, fully empowering way. It took a wake up call (literally) from a friend in Brazil to remind me what a jewel of the Amazon and what a great hope for the World the Pachamama Alliance is. And now I am all-in! I love Pachamama Alliance and the great colorful hope this organization brings to the World!

I first volunteered 45 years ago, and participated in my first political campaign 40 years ago. It wasn't until I connected with Pachamama Alliance two years ago I finally found a social enterprise that offered not just opportunities to serve and to do good, but also education in effective social and political change grounded in best practices from both ancient indigenous and contemporary wisdom teachings; support for building and sustaining local, engaged "pro-activist" community; and training and empowerment for individual volunteers to carry the alliance's message of environmental sustainability, social justice, and spiritual fulfillment to others around the world. I tear up thinking how long I've felt alone and isolated in my call to action for peace and justice, and how now with Pachamama Alliance I finally feel at home. This group is one in a million.

Six years ago I attended a Pachamama "Awakening The Dreamer Changing The Dream Symposium", which changed my life. When I heard the question, "Does anyone want to learn to facilitate a Symposium?" I swiftly raised my arm, am now a Facilitator of many Symposia, have visited the Rainforest twice, and joyfully contribute financially on a monthly basis to the Pachamama Alliance. My money is invested in all ways that support, protect and benefit all life on Earth. No exceptions. I give the Pachamama Alliance the highest rating possible.

I would recommend this organization to everyone who would like to make a significant impact! Pachamama Alliance educates, inspires then empowers each person to be a part of their commendable vision, "... a world that works for everyone: a socially just, environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilled human presence on this planet ..." My first experience was in July 2011 at an "Awakening the Dreamer" Symposium. I learned more than I knew and wanted to become more involved. Soon, I will be attending a Facilitator Training. Next, perhaps, an eco-friendly trip to Ecuador. I love to be surrounded by a community of well-meaning, heart-driven, and action-oriented individuals. There is no greater need than our planet and there is no greater time than now! Join the Pachamama Alliance as a participant or volunteer. You will be glad you did!

I was a volunteer for nearly four years and now am working in a paid role at Pachamama Alliance. I am passionate about their work and am proud to have worked with them for so long.

The organization and all its' programs are the most grounded, committed, courageous, inspiring, bold, beautiful efforts I have ever worked with.

Activism work is often as the agitated activist which is not often effective at waking people up to where we are in the world and where we need to go. It also creates stress on the activist. And life is stressful enough! Pachamama Alliance brings a sacred foundation to this work. They make no one wrong or evil. And they do this while also creating a sense of urgency.

Their mission of a sustainable, just and fulfilling human presence is now a guiding principle for my life.

The Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream symposium developed by the Pachamama Alliance is being experienced all over the planet inspiring people to create an ecologically sustainable, socially just, and spiritually fulfilling human presence on the planet. The experience is incredible and such high quality!

Their work with the Achuar in Ecuador (and Peru) to save their piece of the rainforest is incredible...and a real partnership!

Great organization!

During the event I learned more about The Pachamama Alliance and The Awakening the Dreamer Symposium. While I watched the stunningly beautiful and moving videos and listened to the presenters, I was moved by the inclusiveness of this organization for all groups and communities. It brought together the environment, the human spirit and social justice for all peoples. BAM! Right into my heart.... This is what I wanted for the world. It woke me up to begin discovering what I more I could do in the world. That feeling is still glowing in my heart today....with hope, communities....committed in action in creating a sustainable world.

This is a well run social profit that is making a huge difference in both preserving the rainforest in Ecuador and empowering indigenous people to protect their ancestral territories. Additionally, The Pachamama Alliance is raising the consciousness in industrialized countries to change the thinking around environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment. Paul Hawken has called The Pachamama Alliance the #1 NGO in the world.

This organization is lean and mean that is to say it has a very big outreach on a small budget. Offers Awakening the Dreamer Symposium, Rainforest trips plus much more. Generating leading edge communications that ties together issues of the environment, social justice and spiritual fulfillment. Has created a powerful relationship with the Achuar community in Ecuador and has helped protect millions of acres of rainforest.

My attendance at a single Symposium changed my sense of the possibility for the human race to live a sustainable, fulfilling and social just life in the near future. It lifted decades of growing gloom in my heart and inspired me to throw myself into action to make a big difference every day. I've seen firsthand the acutely important work the Pachamama Alliance is doing in the Amazon basin and the world-changing impacts of their efforts to support self-empowerment of indigenous peoples, including helping draft elements of the new Ecuadorian Constitution to establish a priori rights of the natural world. Through the Pachamama Alliance, I've met extraordinary people from around the world who are committing their lives to changing the course of society in the most productive and harmonious ways possible. My personal community of friends and colleagues has been joyously invigorated by my work with the Pachamama Alliance, and it has changed my work, my family and my life in wonderful ways.

As Paul Hawkens recently said, the Pachamama Alliance may well be the most important NGO in the world today for its work in enlisting people by the tens of thousands in changing their lives, their communities, and their social systems to become environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just. More than 40,000 people have already participated in Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream symposia in at least 28 countries, and the numbers of trained facilitators leading these activism-generating events are multiplying at an ever-increasing rate. The core of the work of this initiative of the Pachamama Alliance is bringing a grounded hopefulness and powerful blessed unrest to community members who are inspired to go out and address the environmental and social needs of their communities in whatever ways they feel they can have the greatest impact. The result is, arguably, the fastest-growing movement generating action for environmental sustainability and social justice in the world today.

The Pachamama Alliance's mission is to springboard a new dream for the world; a dream that is environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling and socially just for all. This organization is creating a shift in consciousness that results in people making wiser choices that honor the earth, her inhabitants and all her people. They are incredibly well organized and powerful in their unique grassroots approach to educating and inspiring people into action. They have a profound and proactive partnership with the Indigenous in Ecuador whereby merging the voice of the ancient with the voice of the modern to create a sustainable future for our world.

From it's inception in 1995 the Pachamama Alliance has effectively made a difference in preserving the rain forest in Ecuador. Working with the indigenous Achuar people, an effective campaign was launched that eventually lead to the establishment of a new constitution that gives nature rights. Pachamama's, Awaken the Dreamer Change the Dream symposium continues to awaken attendees to the challenges we face today in the areas of environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment. Throughout the process of the symposium a new possibility for the earth unfolds and the participants leave with a new found commitment and hope for creating a better future. The Pachamama Alliance is one of the most effectively run non-profits, I know.

The Pachamama Alliance has a two-fold mission: to work with indigenous people in Ecuador, to help them preserve their ancestral lands, the rainforest, for the benefit of all of us; and to change, or "awaken" the people in the industrialized world, so that we, too conduct our lives in a way that preserves the health of the planet for all of us. I am particularly moved the soulful quality of all the people around this organization. As a sometime volunteer, it feels like no one lets their ego get in the way, and their work is always fulfilling and fun. They are one of the most effective organizations I have ever had the pleasure of participating with: they have already made a massive impact in helping several Amazon tribes organize themselves as an effective political entity in Ecuador, and have trained over a thousand volunteer workshop leaders in some 15? countries around the globe to deliver their 1/2-day workshop "Awakening the Dreamer, Changing the Dream"

When I completed my first "Awakening the Dreamer; Changing the Dream" Symposium, I knew that this was the organization that could make the most difference in the world. The Symposium skillfully demonstrates that environmental sustainability, social justice and spiritual fulfillment -- the very issues that were core in my own life -- are inextricably intertwined and part of a single whole - the possibility for a better life on our planet. I became a volunteer and learned that this understanding has roots in indigenous wisdom. I was moved to go to the Ecuadorian Amazon to learn first-hand about a way of life that has been sustainable for millenia. Pachamama's work in the Amazon (they were instrumental in helping Ecuador be the first nation whose constitution establishes rights for nature) is complemented by the educational work in the "modern" world, a unique and powerful blend.

I joined The Pachamama Alliance to be part of an organization that is making a difference--now. From playing an integral role in Ecuador's adoption of rights for nature in its new constitution to the capacity building that has helped indigenous groups in the Amazon defend and preserve their homeland and way of life, The Pachamama Alliance is truly changing the world.

In 1989 I traveled to the Achuar territory of the Amazon Rainforest in Ecuador. The Achuar had successfully kept the outside world out for all this time. I realized that I was in the presence of life in a whole different paradigm. These people are the teachers for reconnecting to the Earth (Pachamama). I could not shake that experience. After a few more trips to visit the Achuar, I found out about the formation of The Pachamama Alliance. I give my time and money to nonprofits that show the most impact for my investment (of time and money). The Pachamama Alliance is an organization with extraordinary and wide-reaching impact. Through their focus they amplify the voices of the indigenous people (currently 5 communities of people and 5 million acres) in Ecuador's rainforest such that it has had deep effects on the protection of the rainforest and even on the rewriting of their country's constitution. Also, through the Awakening the Dreamer Symposium, an educational component, a new awareness is brought to the developed world and has spread virally to over 28 countries.
