We play four concerts to a combined audience of about 700 people in the Winter and Spring. Two of our annual concerts are held at South Orange Performing Arts Center (SOPAC), and the others are community service performances.

The team at YOEC (conductors and staff) create a fun environment for music learning. The emphasis is on growth, not stress, and it is great to see the improvement from orchestra to orchestra and from year to year.

Youth Orchestras of Essex County has been a positive and encouraging experience for my son, who plays the violin. His musical ability has greatly improved as a result of being a part of this orchestra. He was able to move from the intermediate orchestra to the highest level orchestra. The conductors are excellent and so are the performances. I love the fact that the orchestra does community outreaches to places like nursing homes and children's hospitals. It is important for children to learn to give back to the community. I would highly recommend YOEC to anyone seeking a high quality orchestra experience for their child at reasonable cost.
