Causes: Environment, Natural Resources Conservation & Protection
Mission: Provide youth with summer conservation employment (in partnership with the lake county forest preserve) as well as college education awards from the corps network in washington d. C. , support opportunity youth with education, job skills training, community service, environment awareness and life skills/leadership.
Programs: Dol/youthbuild program: an eleven month program, designed to help young adults overcome barriers to success by re-enrolling them in a school program to obtain their ged or high school diploma, while at the same time teaching them construction, hospitality, life skills, job readiness, leadership development, and community involvement.
summer program: provides employment opportunities and environmental education to lake county, illinois high school and college students interested in preserving lake county's wetlands, prairies, and woodlands. The students also earn education awards.
education initiatives: provide advanced education opportunities for disadvantaged young adults in lake county, illinois. This program provides the career building education and skills to advance beyond minimum wage or entry level jobs, and provide a bridge to college.
