Having the chance to harvest over 2,000 lbs of fresh vegetables each year from 2015-2019 for a local food pantry was very rewarding personally. Occasionally, I also volunteered at the food pantry when the vegetables were made available to the patrons. Seeing peoples’ faces light up at the sight of the beautiful vegetables and hearing their positive comments made my heart sing with joy. Greentown Grows has service at its heart and has generously supported the Waukegan area for 24 years.
