Mission: The mission of the yes lab, inc. Is to educate the general public by teaching methods and strategies to uncover and publicize the truth with regard to motives and operations of governmental and corporate entities. In addition, the yes lab educates organizations on how to more effectively communicate with the public about their campaigns by using savvy media strategies.
Programs: In fy 2016, the yes lab carried out, launched, or completed 8 workshops, 16 public lectures, and 7 intensive trainings for organizations and activist groups. The workshops served over 300 students and professionals in the usa and europe. The lectures reached over 2,600 attendees. And in the trainings and project launches made over 60 participants intimately familiar with the yes lab methods for communicating social messages in the media. We also published several online videos that received more that 8 million views. In 2017 we also downsized and streamlined our organization to concentrate on delivering our core services at a lower cost. Highlights: workshops included: le fabrique (mons, belgium); the mitchell center for the arts (houston); clackamas community college, oregon; and the gaiete lyrique, paris. Lectures included: idfa (amsterdam); the design university (zurich); the crossroads conference (bonn, germany); kamfnagel (hamburg); the national theater (berlin); the lensic theater (santa fe nm); cifas festival (brussels belgium); the university of houston (texas); and the pelicam festival (tulcea romania). Trainings and associated project launches included: civil society enter (prague); university of sussex (uk); university of toledo (ohio); colgate university (new york); and hobart and william smith college (new york); and dennison university (granville, ohio). Of the videos we published online, several received widespread viewership including one short educational video about confronting racism that was watched over 8 million times. Finally, we were able to vastly downsize our yes lab operations by terminating our digital platform called the "action switchboard. " the service proved to be costly and difficult to maintain, and by cutting it we have successfully re-focused on our core services.
