Mission: The World Affairs Council is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to informing and engaging people of all ages on matters of national and international significance. To this end, it provides education, discourse and information to audiences throughout the Greater Philadelphia region, including individual and corporate members, students and teachers, and the general public. Established in 1949 as a forum for discussing differing points of view, the Council does not endorse candidates for public office or lobby for policies. Membership is open to all who share its principles. The Council currently serves more than 75 corporate members and their executives, and nearly 3,000 individual members, as well as running a nationally acclaimed education program that has served over one million middle school and high school students since its inception, and continues to directly reach over 2,600 students in 200 schools each year.
