the education fund fellows program - see schedule o. The education fund of the women's forum provides annual awards in the form of grants, to encourage mature women, age 35 and over, whose lives have been disrupted by extreme adversity, resume their college education and get their lives back on track. The award recognizes extraordinary and often heroic effort in overcoming adversity and the most daunting of odds in restructuring lives for success. Since 1987 the recipients of these awards have provided inspiration to those who have come to know and admire their success in rising above their challenges, obtaining their college degrees and taking their place in the professional work world. Ninety percent of our ed fund fellows earn their college diplomas. Many pursue graduate studies. Our alumnae range from doctors to dancers who give back to their communities and whose children go on to get their college degrees. The awards are announced in july of each year. In 2017, the education fund awarded 18 grants of $10,000 each.
