Mission: Women Outdoors was founded in 1980 to provide a clearinghouse and networking organization for women who love the outdoors and promote environmental awareness. Activities include support of Regional chapters which sponsor local events, an annual national Gathering, leadership development scholarships, a Magazine, and low cost publications on commercial women's trips and an annotated bibliography of women's adventure travel, wilderness and country living and nature literature.
