Translate Gender has been a wonderful resource and support network for the local community. They have a team of kind, knowledgeable folks who are generous with their time and energy. We have enjoyed partnering with them on projects and participating in their fundraising events.
I am the Teen Librarian at Medfield Public Library and two years ago, I teamed up with the amazing people at Translate Gender to put together an LGBTQ+ Youth Summer Series. We extended this series last year to include multiple libraries and organizations across the state. This collaboration offered a variety of in-person and virtual programs/events that included book clubs, art projects, and informational sessions.
I really enjoyed planning this series with James, who made everything feel so easy! He was also super supportive and engaged with all collaborators. Working with Translate Gender was an amazing and rewarding experience, and I can't recommend them highly enough. They are doing such important work with our LGBTQ+ youth, and I can't wait to continue to provide programs and events with them.
Working with Translate Gender was fantastic. Everything was organized and communication was top-notch.
We have worked on programing with Translate Gender during Pride 2022. They are an amazing community partner. We are excited to work with them again in 2023!
I have been involved with Translate Gender in a variety of ways for over 10 years and have seen the ways in which this vital and community centered organization has grown and changed to meet the needs of the folks it serves. I feel proud to be on the board of a trans led organization that is growing and evolving and tirelessly working towards gender justice and disrupting all systems of oppression.
Translate Gender joined the non-profit community fairly recently, but they were up and running in no time because many of the services they offer have been on-going for years. Non-profit status has made it possible for them to expand and grow rapidly. From training of allies and advocates in crucial community roles in schools, churches, and elsewhere, to monthly family group meetings of parents and their gender questioning children; from creative arts and cultural programming, to one to one counseling, Translate Gender offers the wider community unique and urgently needed resources. Having attended the monthly family meetings many times over the years, I am always struck by the relief and gratitude voiced by families for a place to share their feelings and struggles and learn from each other. The fact that the organization is trans-led and trans-facilitated allows the children who attend their programs to see people like themselves and imagine possible futures that include respect and appreciation for who they are. As a Board Member it has been my honor and privilege to participate in the exciting expansion of this innovative organization.
Translate Gender is an incredible organization that offers a diverse array of services to the trans and gender-expansive community! All of the staff and volunteers are welcoming and love what they do. As someone who works closely with supporting the Inclusion Initiative , I have seen first hand the amount of effort that goes into making each professional development training uniquely suited to the needs of the specific school/organization. I also highly recommend the gender-affirming psychotherapy resources and One 2 One program to anyone seeking support and connection within the trans/gender-expansive community! Overall, Translate Gender is an invaluable resource and network.
I worked with Translate Gender as an undergraduate intern and had an extremely wonderful time working with trans youth and facilitating conversations. I volunteered my time to help imagine and create some systems for the organization to further smoother operation. I believe this nonprofit does a lot of good and it is nice to see it growing and I look forward to seeing them serve more communities in need as the organization expands.
Translate Gender is a collective nonprofit that works toward gender justice. But it is much more than that. It is a collective rooted in community and led by the community to better the lives of gender-expansive, nonbinary, and transgender youth and adults. Translate Gender brings families of trans experience together, offers supportive services to every member of the family, and invests in the livelihood, knowledge, and joy of transgender, nonbinary, and gender-expansive youth.
Moreover, as a collective nonprofit, Translate Gender prioritizes the well-being and creative ideas of its staff and team members, contributing to a positive change toward community accountability and diminishing capitalist and white supremacist hierarchies and structures within the organization while enhancing staff's unique voices and leadership.
Translate Gender has created a space for our family to have support and community in ways that are so meaningful and impactful. To have such a loving and supportive group of providers and other tamiles has been life changing.
Translate Gender is doing amazing work in the community! A passionate and professional organization that will absolutely save lives through their programming and initiatives.
Translate Gender is one of a kind in the way it builds community deeply and in a way that is meant to be sustained. By nature of the organization being led by trans and gender non-conforming people, the organization provides role models for the trans and gender non-conforming youth they serve, for the volunteers, and for their interns. In addition to all the amazing programming they provide, the way that all people involved in the organization, the folks who take part in their programming, the volunteers, and their staff, see role models for themselves, and see people like them who are leaders and who are living happy, successful lives.
The programs Translate Gender provides is absolutely vital, and I am so grateful as an intern to have seen firsthand the impact on youth and families it has. Not only is this organization filling an area of great need in the lives of trans youth and families, they trying to run themselves as ethically and honestly as possible, and hold themselves accountable for how they hold space in the world.
Translate Gender is a wonderful nonprofit serving transgender youth and their families. They offer educational workshops and consultation, book clubs, individual and group therapy, a mentorship program, and are constantly brainstorming to provide more programming with increased access to the community. Through these offerings, Translate Gender provides spaces for trans kids to be with and supported by their peers and possibility models. These programs also provide support and advocacy for families and caregivers. It is a gift to witness the healing power of community that occurs when trans kids are able to be among like people and their caregivers and families are uplifted. It is truly valuable work run by a great team of passionate people.
Translate Gender has been an incredible resource for families and the community. From their training and education that they provide to K-12 schools and organizations, to their innovative and exciting programming for youth and families.
As a trans-led organization, it's empowering to see other trans, nonbinary, and gender expansive people create programs and deliver services to our community. Possibility models, seeing ourselves represented in leadership and in community is vital to trans people's survival and how we thrive!
I'm grateful to be a part of some of this important work, and look forward to the work Translate Gender and its collaborators do in the future. Keep up the great work!
