As fiscal agent, Windows has eight years of expertise in collecting and disbursing money in accordance with generally accepted accounting practices on behalf of local resident groups and other nonprofit community organizations. Since its inception in 1989, Windows of Opportunity has earned a reputation among community groups, social service organizations, and the philanthropic community as an organization that expands and enhances opportunities for Chicago public housing residents to participate in community life. In total, more than 50,000 individuals and families have benefited from Windows' services.
