Mission: The WIN Project is dedicated primarily to the promotion of the general welfare and economic development of low and moderate-income groups with special focus on the population of families falling within 30% to 60% median incomes. Those in this group realize that the cost of housing can be a family's single largest expense. Many families spend over 50% of their wages on housing and are forced to move if they incur rent increases. Research has shown that such unstable living conditions can be devastating to the children as well as the parents experiencing this kind of housing crisis.In the Southern California area, families are being forced to live in overcrowded conditions and substandard housing while waiting in excess of 10 years for government subsidies which are decreasing.
