I have been both a volunteer and audience member for Wildsong productions since they re-opened their doors in early 2022. They are genuinely wonderful people to be around and I am proud to work with/support them. They strive to bring the greatest theatre experiences to their patrons and to their casts of volunteers. They give actors a safe space to work and hone their craft all while putting on stellar productions. There is a reason you see so many return faces in their casts and audiences. Once you interact with them, you just want to come back for more. They make you feel like family no matter how long you’ve been around them. They are wonderful people with a great vision for the future of their place in the non profit theatre world.
Wildsong is an innovative young theatre company with unlimited potential! My teenage son has been cast in their first two youth productions and absolutely adores working with them. Wildsong is extremely passionate about their art and it definitely shows in their productions. The two he was a part of were top notch! All the teens we know who have been a part of a Wildsong Production say they’ve learned so much and can’t wait to work with this team again.
Working with Wildsong has been one of the best things I hav done. I have never felt safer in a community of artists. I have had the privilege of working both on stage and behind the scenes, and I have loved every minute. This company truly works to uphold its mission statement and foster a welcoming and inclusive environment. I hope Wildsong can continue to grow and flourish with the help of more volunteers and donors. The San Diego community needs more places like Wildsong.
This exceptional organization is the future of theater. A space dedicated to an intersectional representation of actors, not afraid to ask hard questions and conversations, all while producing top notch art. This is the only theater my family will see shows at anymore, because nothing compares. We truly hope Wildsong thrives for many years to come!
Best theater company I’ve ever worked with. Wildsong Productions has an inclusive and welcoming environment and it has become a safe space for me and so many others.
I have seen about six or seven shows that Wildsong Productions has done and I have never left disappointed! In fact, every show has had me laughing, crying or just singing along! The talent level across the board is always top notch. Their actors are diverse and extremely gifted singers and dancers as well. The choreography is fantastic especially considering how small their usual venue is. They make it feel like a big show but it’s intimate at the same time. It’s always a great escape from reality to be welcomed into their world of theater! Don’t miss an opportunity to see one of their fantastic productions.
Wildsong has been one of the best community theatres I've had the pleasure of working with this past 2 years. Not only do they adhere closely to their mission statement of being an inclusive and diverse theatre, but they also seek to do meaningful productions that tell important and relevant stories.
I have been working in theatre for over 25 years, and in just the last 6 months of volunteering at Wildsong, it has easily cemented itself as the most supportive, encouraging, and honestly phenomenal company I've ever had the honor to be a part of. Not only do they have an unbelievably inclusive mindset when it comes to casting and production, but the sheer quality of the work they are able to accomplish on a less-than-shoestring budget is frankly jaw-dropping. The world (especially the highly competetive and often judgmental world of theatre) needs more companies like this, and I couldn't be more proud to be a part of it.
Growing up as a performer, I had never done anything musical theater related until 2019, with Wildsong Productions! And every experience I’ve had with them since has been wonderful. I can honestly say Wildsong Productions is a people first company, that values inclusivity, diversity, and providing a safe space for creativity.
I’ve never been involved with a company like this; one that actually listens to their actors and actively tries to create a welcoming environment. They do more than just cast a POC in a lead role and call it a day just to say they’re diverse in their casting the way every other big theatre company in San Diego does. They cast people based on their talent and what they bring to the show, regardless of body size, shape and color. To say I am thankful for Wildsong Productions is a vast understatement. Having only done three shows with them this year, I already know for a fact that I will be frequenting their auditions for as long as they’ll have me. The commitment to making a show happen says a lot about a theatre space and I’ve never been involved with a company who gives EVERY second of their time to make a show happen. Where others say “that’s good enough” Wildsong says and I quote, “…for the amount of money that we have to charge for tickets, we don’t want to put on a show that feels half done.” Time and time again I see large, well-funded theatre companies put on shows that look visually pleasing, but lack any kind of depth or any emotion as a whole. With Wildsong, they put together a simple yet effective set with whatever budget they have, dealing with factors such as spacial limitations and, of course, money, yet the productions they put on show a range of talents and community that is seldom seen anywhere else. The friendships and memories I’ve made here will stay with me forever.
I joined Wildsong as an actor and volunteer, and immediately fell in love with the community here. Making art with Wildsong is my favorite thing to do, and it’s worth every bit of hard work we put into it.
Wildsong is one of the few organizations in San Diego that is fully committed to diverse casting, seeking to overcome the stigma that is ingrained so deeply in theatre spaces. I’m so proud that we have created a home for those who lost their love for theater.
Over the past year, I have had the opportunity to participate as a performer with Wildsong and also as an audience member. I can not speak more highly of this group. On top of presenting professional quality shows with incredibly talented actors and designers, they provide opportunities to perform for folks who may have been denied those opportunities in other companies. If you get a chance to see a Wildsong show, please do! You won't regret it, and I guarantee you will want to come back for more!
I absolutely love this theater company. Whether it’s on stage or seeing a show they produce it’s always an amazing experience. I love the venue and I especially love the people that work tirelessly to make sure their shows are top notch.
The people are great and the productions are wildly entertaining!!! They have put stellar productions like Next To Normal, The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee, Tick Tick Boom, The Secret Garden, Spring Awakening and It: A Pennywise Parody Musical!!! My experience with them has been great having done two productions with them, Assassins and Beauty and The Beast which is currently in production (we close on the 18th so don’t miss out). I look forward to many more productions with this company and I’m glad they welcomed me into this family!!!
They put on an awesome production of Beauty and the Beast. Made the most out of the venue and had the audience engaged the entire time. Great casting as well!
This was my first year participating in one of Wildsong's shows, and it honestly was a godsend. I had been struggling post-pandemic (well, early years of it) to find the sense of community that I had before in the arts. Nothing was a good fit. Until I found this group.
Not only is it packed with some of the most talented human beings I've ever met, but its made up of people who love what they do. Who love the art they create and the community they nurture. The way they made me feel like I belonged, like I was part of the family, was unreal.
After my first show, I came back and volunteered in addition to auditioning. Anywhere I could help, I wanted to be there. Now, I find myself missing the people and the space, even being away for a weekend. Wildsong Productions is home. Plain and simple

Thank you!
I have been volunteering with Wildsong since 2019, and I am so thankful to have a company like them around. Wildsong is providing high quality theater on a very tight budget, and opening opportunities for local San Diego talent to perform. I have volunteered in the cast and on the artistic team for shows, and it has always been an extremely pleasant experience! I truly hope that Wildsong can continue to grow and flourish, because I know that they will make great magic happen in the San Diego community. I cannot recommend this company enough to anyone who is able to get involved or wants to support an honest, earnest, and hard working group of creative individuals!
