Mission: Whitney youth health's mission is to provide access to consistent quality healthcare without regard to income.
Programs: Medical services: wyh provided 34,523 patient visits in 2017, with an emphasis on providing quality health care to people across their lifespan, regardless of gender, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status. Through our medical services, we strive to provide quality of care to underserved populations, including those who are uninsured and underinsured. We serve a significant number of uninsured patients. Included in medical services are primary and specialty care services, mental health services, and hiv outreach, testing and treatment services. Wyh has been recognized, for a second time, by the national committee for quality assurance (ncqa) as a level 3 patient-centered medical home at our health centers.
dental services: wyh provided 19,771 patient visits in 2017 including both preventative and restorative services to underserved populations and is the area's largest dental provider for medicaid patients. In addition to the dental departments in albany, watervliet and troy. Wyh also provides mobile dental hygienist services through a program called seal-a-smile. Seal-a-smile is an oral health program providing preventative services to elementary school aged children primarily in albany and rensselaer county schools.
substance use disorder services: wyh provided 10,941 patient visits in 2017 to clients with substance use disorders. Our family alcoholism and chemical treatment services (facts) and methadone maintenance treatment program (mmtp) are part of an integrated behavioral health approach that incorporates support groups, counseling, referrals, and medication management options to stabilize and improve the lives of our clients. Both programs are licensed by new york state office of alcoholism and substance abuse services (oasas), and accredited by the joint commission.
