Mission: We work to promote full implementation of the Estuary Policy Plan and the Lake Merritt Park Master Plan; protect the public trust; and educate the citizens about the region's waterfront and its assets.
Programs: Public Meetings: Waterfront Action holds frequent public meetings devoted to waterfront improvements, plans, and developments. These meetings bring together community members, developers, agency and government officials to consider issues and projects related to our region's waterfront. Public Education: We provide a website and E-mail updates (to members) that communicate current information about the estuary and Lake Merritt. Waterfront Action provides an educational booth at a range of public events and faires. Public Voice: Waterfront Action speaks in support of the Estuary Policy Plan and Lake Merritt Park Master Plan in public meetings and forums. Special Projects: Each year, we undertake special projects aimed at increasing public awareness and use of our waterfronts.
