Mission: Washtenaw assoc for community advocacy's mission is to ensure that people with disabilities and their families have choices, opportunities and the support they need to be fully included in community life through advocacy and education.
Programs: Advocacy services - fielded over 1600 calls for information and referral services, assistance to access and maintain the family support subsidy to 209 families, education advocacy to 67 school age children (wcho, mcf, mde)
systematic change - organized and facilitated activities to improve sufficiencym methods and quality of supports offered by various entities for persons with disabilities, collaborated with 425 individuals to promote systems change.
wipa (work incentives planning and assistance provided assistance to 150 individuals with disabilities and those who support them to understand the benefits and risks of going back to work and/or increasing their work income. Fielded approximately 100 additional contacts for information and referral regarding wipa services
local and statewide advocacy, training and research to ensure that people with developmental disabilities lives are self determined, safe, and appropriately supported. Approximately 52 individuals were served. Provided trust management services, including individualized support to trust beneficiaries with disabilities. Served 11 trust beneficiaries.
