Mission: The wsma foundation for health care improvement was created to help physicians understand and adapt to on-going changes in health delivery and payment by working with medical groups and physicians' practices to: support information-based care, promote best practices, promote reductions in unsupportable variations in care, improve patient safety, and educate physicians on how to meet these goals.

The know your choices ask your doctor campaign is a statewide campaign to educate patients on important health topics and enhance the relationship between patient and physician. The campaign will educate patients on the appropriate place to receive health care, end of life resources and the choosing wisely campaign, a national effort launched by the abim foundation and consumer reports to encourage conversations between physicians and patients about the necessity of certain tests and procedures.
honoring choices pacific northwest (hcpnw) is a project/program that was developed from the joint collaboration of washington state medical association (wsma) and washington state hospital association (wsha), through grants and donations from third parties. Wsma and wsha, through hcpnw, partnered with wsma foundation to allow the foundation to collect tax deductible donations for hcpnw and distribute the money for the goals of hcpnw. The program includes an informational website, general education materials, and focused instruction of personnel in hospitals, hospital systems, and other healthcare facilities through the use of certified faculty. The ultimate goal of hcpnw is for everyone in the pacific northwest to receive care that honors personal values and goals at the end of life.
