Causes: Arts & Culture, Arts Education
Mission: To advance arts education in wa state through leadership, partnership, and communication. Through programs for schools, advocacy, and policy work, we create the enduring system-wide change to ensure that every student in every k-12 school receives an arts education.
Programs: Leadership: principals arts leadership program: pal is a three-year planning and implementation model that supports long-term arts education sustainability through coaching and facilitation protocols. Cornerstone of creative capacity (c3)is a school district senior leadership baseline survey that identifies key features of arts education tools, resources, and infrastructure.
education: art lessons in the classroom (alic) is a collection of k-6 integrated visual arts lessons aligned to washington state and common core standards supported by training and online resources. Counterarts is a forum and lecture series in honor of andrea allen to explore issues, research and trends impacting the world of arts and education.
awareness: arts education community engagement program is a broad communications plan for the general public that includes information about policy, funding, research,convenings,school board candidate surveys and services. Arts education month is an annual celebration in may of arts learning in schools including resolutions/proclamations, recognition of excellence, festivities and invitations to see "arts in action. "
