I want to tell you a story about my life in Waltham.
My family did not have a lot of money for extras. We just got by. But my mother considered it important that we go on the school’s cultural field trips to hear classical music and to see plays in Boston. She went without and saved so we could pay the amount the school charged to go.
This was my introduction to classical music and our arts and culture. It made such a difference in my life and my outlook of the world around me that I vowed to try to make this happen for other kids growing up in Waltham. It is why I work with the other volunteers behind the scenes for the Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra. I don’t play an instrument, but I want all kids to have a chance to hear and appreciate classical music.
It is why I hope other people will help me do this work by supporting the musicians who give their time and talents to the Waltham Philharmonic Orchestra by making a donation to wphil.org.
