Mission: Wall street risings corp. 's primary exempt purpose is to create and support programs to restore the downtown area of manhattan in the aftermath of the september 11, 2001 attack, restore the economic health of businesses affected by the attack, and to make the downtown area more attractive to workers, residents, businesses and tourists.
Programs: Wall street rising has created a variety of community initiatives. The downtown information center is a state-of-the-art center providing one-stop shopping for everything someone needs to live, work, or play in lower manhattan. A weekly tour of lower manhattan was conducted from the information center, led by professional architectural historians, which brought a unique perspective to the history and variety of the built environment in lower manhattan.
wall street rising provided funding to support the municipal art society of new york's 2010 summit for new york city, which introduced a web-based urban planning tool with a range of uses applicable to the design and redevelopment of lower manhattan in the aftermath of 9/11. Additional panel discussions focused on lower manhattan issues and included downtown community board representation, as well as representation from the business improvement district located in the downtown area.
