Mission: To help individuals with vision impairments, as well as those with other physical challenges, achieve their highest level of independence.
Programs: Rehabilitation and early education programs: programs of the agency that provide rehabilitation and educational programs throughout the 8 counties in western new york. We provide comprehensive rehabilitation services from birth to the elderly that focus on: early intervention, preschool programs, school-age program and services, independence, orientation and mobility (white cane travel), vision rehabilitation services, social work, employment, vocational training, job placement, low vision exams and instruction on adaptive technology. We serve approximately 2500 clients annually.
sewing and assembly: operations of the agency that provide training and employment to the blind and visually impaired through an integrated setting. Through these efforts we sell merchandise that is produced, assembled or packaged by our blind or visually impaired staff. The majority of the employees are visually impaired or physically disabled and compensated with competitive wages and benefits.
switchboards & contact center: operations of the agency that operate switchboards and a contact center including the emergency 211 call center open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week that provides free quick and easy access to information about health and human services to the 8 counties in western ny. Over 80 % of the staff is blind or physically disabled and compensated with competitive wages and benefits.
