Mission: Valley consortium for medical education ("vcme"), located in modesto, california, was founded to create and foster graduate and undergraduate medical education in the stanislaus county (the "county") area of central california. Specifically, vcme's principal activity is operating a family medicine residency program, the vcme family medicine residency program. In addition, vcme started an orthopedic surgery residency program in 2013 that is expected to continue as an ongoing program in the future.
