Relief Inc is an interesting organization for many reasons. It explores different ways of helping the community while also helping and supporting women and children in Liberia. Personally, I believe it’s an organization that is not supported enough by the community. The group is led by selfless humanitarian, Phebe Fortt, who puts her time, energy, and livelihood into it every day. Although this was tough due to covid, there was some weakness found. For example, being on July 3rd she was robbed in broad daylight. This was clearly due to the lack of volunteers and stable support. I would hope when reading this review you see that this organization has tons of potential and with the right support, guidance, and volunteers; new heights can be reached.Ronald Fortt

I was called to pastor an historic church in Modesto, CA. My primary goal was to lead as Senior Pastor, but I also wanted to partner with non-profits that shared values and outcomes for domestic and foreign philanthropy. Relief, Inc and Phebe Fortt satisfy that endeavor. Genuine need and self sustainable care isa model that ensures the good they begin will perpetuate through generations.

Relief Inc: Making a Beautiful Difference

I cannot help but be moved by the incredible work that Relief Inc does, not only here in the United States but also across borders, where their unwavering commitment to helping those in need shines brilliantly.

Relief Inc is not just a nonprofit; it's a beacon of hope, compassion, and change. Their dedication to alleviating suffering and spreading love is nothing short of beautiful. Here are a few reasons why Relief Inc deserves the utmost praise and support:

1. Global Impact with a Local Heart:
Relief Inc has managed to bridge the gap between local and global compassion seamlessly. Their work, whether it's providing relief to disaster-stricken areas or supporting underserved communities right here at home, is a testament to their versatility and dedication.

2. Empowerment through Education:
One of the most admirable aspects of Relief Inc is their commitment to education. They understand that education is the key to breaking the cycle of poverty. By supporting educational initiatives, they're not just providing knowledge but also empowering individuals to shape their destinies.

3. Compassion Beyond Borders:
The world can be a challenging and often divided place, but Relief Inc serves as a shining example of compassion that knows no boundaries. Their relief efforts in times of crisis and their ongoing support for vulnerable communities across the globe showcase the beauty of humanity.

4. Community-Centric Approach:
Relief Inc doesn't just swoop in and out of communities; they become an integral part of them. Their community-centric approach, which fosters trust, collaboration, and lasting change, is a model for nonprofits everywhere.

5. Transparency and Accountability:
In an era where transparency is vital, Relief Inc stands out for its commitment to accountability. They ensure that every donation, no matter the size, makes a meaningful impact, and they keep their supporters informed about the positive changes they're making.

Relief Inc, you are a ray of hope in a sometimes turbulent world. Your work is a beautiful testament to the fact that, as a collective, we can make a difference. Thank you for being a source of inspiration and a force for good. I stand with you in your mission and look forward to witnessing the continued beauty you bring to this world.

With deep gratitude,
Michael R

Relief inc. has made the choice to change lives. Being an encouragement to communities and an advocate to the gesture, “possibilities are endless”, this organization has worked tirelessly to build a better tomorrow through its programs. It takes a special individual /s with the fortitude and dedication to serve communities here and abroad.
I’ve watched this organization from its inception two decades ago til present, and its values and morale compass remains in tact. So let the foundation endowment funds and philanthropist step up and join Relief Inc; to fight poverty and homelessness for decades to come. Thanks again Relief Inc for your generosity!
Your gift of giving counts!!!

My name is Sandra Sandoval. For about six years now, I have been a volunteer at Relief, Inc. My eight-year-old granddaughter Nevaeh has also been part of our nonprofit. She enjoyed helping pack the Valentine Health Basket for our Modesto City Schools, Deserving Students -Stanislaus School District, and Our Daily Bread to feed people experiencing homelessness in our community. I’m proud to be part of a nonprofit organization that continues to help improve the lives of women, children, and orphans in Liberia by providing opportunities to become entrepreneurs.
Unfortunately, the carjacking incident on July 3, 2021, robbed our organization of its funds and marketing supplies. We started a recycling project to bring in funds. We need help to stay afloat with our programs in Liberia and Northern California. We are grateful and proud to say that the continued support of our donors, sponsors, and volunteers has kept our program afloat. But we still need more wonderful and compassionate people to help us in our cause.
If Relief, Inc. had a space to inventory and distribute Our Daily Bread to feed people experiencing homelessness in our community and an office space for our volunteers to continue our programs. We could do more for our communities in northern California and Liberia.

My name is Sandra Sandoval, and I have volunteered at Relief Inc. for about four years now. I am proud to see how Relief Inc. strives to improve the lives of women, children, and orphans in Liberia by providing opportunities to become entrepreneurs. The Our Daily Bread program feeds the hungry in Stanislaus County and helps alleviate one of the symptoms of poverty: hunger. We continue to work through COVID -19.
Unfortunately, on the morning of July 3rd when our founder arrived to set up the cash registers. She got assaulted and carjacked. The suspects drove away with her vehicle, equipment, computers, iPad, and other equipment used to run the nonprofit. Our rental U-Haul trailer had over $56,000 in fireworks and about $7,000 in equipment. Phantom Fireworks is demanding $ 56,000 from Relief, Inc for the value of the stolen fireworks.
It aches me to see that some people would just come and drive away with the only funding we were relying on to support our programs. Plus, the emotional toil, fractured wrist, and trauma that Relief Inc.’s founder (Phebe Dennis-Fortt) had and continue to endure.

I've volunteered at Relief, Inc. with my mom, Sandra Sandoval, and I can see how much she enjoys it. When I had the opportunity to work with both of them, It was easy to see their passion and care for the cause. My mom has been working with Mrs. Phebe Dennis-Fortt for about six years now. When inventorying and packaging the Panera Bread Day-End Doug-Nation for Our Daily Bread program for the communities homeless feeding, they quote, “Pack it the way you would like to receive it.”
If this nonprofit had a donated space to accommodate its volunteers and programs, they could do more in our communities. Please help us grow by donating, volunteering, and/or sponsoring. Relief, Inc. With your help and support, we can all make a difference.

My name is Alexis Martinez a high School student in Modest, CA. I started volunteering at Relief, Inc with my mom. My mom really enjoys working with Mrs. Fortt. My mom always tells her friends and family that Mrs. Fortt is a beautiful woman with a pure heart.

Relief Inc worked hard to raise the money needed to build a fence for the House of Hope Orphanage in Liberia so the kids could still have a safe place to live. Being part of that is really heartwarming. And the work that is being done in Liberia doesn’t stop there. Mrs. Fortt continues to work with women and children by teaching them work-skills and sending children to college.

Relief also is making awesome work here in our community. We pick up bread and pastries to feed the homeless every Saturday. Relief, Inc bread program collaborates with churches to feed in our community. The program also helps to feed our MJC students’ breakfast and stock their pantry on Tuesday’s and Wednesday’s.

We need our community to work together with us and volunteers for our Crab Fest and Firework booth. I will continue helping Mrs. Fortt and my mother in what is needed from me and I look forward to meeting new people and kids my age group.

Sincerely,
Alexis Martinez

There are very little things in this world that fuel a person's spirit, like being a part of something bigger than themselves. Without the seed that Mrs. Phebe Dennis-Fortt planted, along with the help of her husband Mr. Ron Fortt Sr. Relief, Inc. bloomed In 2003 In Modesto California, giving me and others an outlet to be a part of something much greater than ourselves. Relief, Inc. has many great programs. I plugged myself into the recycling program since the carjacking robbery the organization had not recovered from. When I first saw the flyer that Ms. Phebe and her son made. I  automatically started brainstorming how I could help. In recognition of my mother who showed me how to recycle and why it is very important; It was very clear how I was going to lend a hand with this program. I saw the opportunity in my father’s catering business at El Coyote de Tijuana where I recycle. In essence, this great nonprofit has given me the opportunity to “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”  by Gandhi

Hoping Relief, Inc will be noticed for their success in raising funds to assist those in need and live in a third world with clothing, shoes, and supplies. We live in a country that is being transformed and the enduring vitality of Ms. Phoebe ensure that this non-profit organization will continue to provide needed items. When Ms Phoebe asked if I could help collect shoes, I was immediately compelled to start collecting for her, she made a great point about how we should 'help' each other! I agree and will continue to support Relief, Inc. in raising funds and collecting as needed, we can do this together, help each other and those really in need. It's people like Ms. Phoebe and her organization that makes a change in our world.

When I came in contact with Relief (Liberia), Inc. Headquarters in Modesto, California, I saw how they had successfully trained ten women in a small space to weave cotton into fabrics during a pilot program. I suggested they need a larger facility for more women to weave larger fabric. The stipend the Substitute weaving instructor received allowed her to continue her nursing career and graduate.
The women participating in the weaving program came from longer-distance communities. Some have younger children. Some were dropouts due to a lack of funding to pay their school fees and stumbled on Relief's weaving program with all tuition and supplies sponsored by donor funds. This opportunity unfolded and was able to give them time to acquire a vocational education.
The dress styles and the economy were profoundly affected by the introduction of weaving. The country cloth was a significant trade item until the early part of the last century when local textiles were replaced in part by cheaper European fabrics. The function of dress and personal adornment varies significantly from culture to culture and may help distinguish one person from another in Liberia. Bringing that back will help the country and local communities. To all volunteers, donors, partners, and sponsors of Relief, Inc., We Thank You.

Relief, Inc. is a full circle non profit. The efforts of this nonprofit show in the ways its funds are used, not only supporting the communities it serves, but also committing to building lasting skills and knowledge for its recipients, so that they eventually have what they need to better their lives. This makes this nonprofit not only exceptional, but also unique, in that it spends time generating creative supports that lead to real sustainability for people in need that will not only make its recipients independent but also confident and skilled. Relief Inc. Is a wonderful company. Although the non-profit is primarily meant to help those in need in West Africa, they have been very active in my hometown. Relief Inc. has been delivering goods across town (Modesto area), helping my former church feed the homeless with donated baked goods. In July the founder, Phebe Fortt; was attacked by a lunatic while distributing fireworks in partnership with “Phantom Fireworks” and she kept up her usual work ethic. Definitely support this non-profit.

Relief, Inc. is a non-profit organization that has been helping impoverished women and children from West Africa and Northern California. The founder has been working tirelessly on this project since 2003, overcoming all kind of obstacles.
Phebe Dennis-Fortt is the founder and she has experienced these same needs in her own life.
Because of her own experiences, she will never give up. Her determination to make it easier for others gives her strength. Her faith in God gives her the strength to persevere.
I have watched her spend her own money to help others and work 7 days a week. Relief Inc and Phebe Dennis-Fortt are committed to helping others.
This year has been extraordinarily hard for her because she was Carjacked and robbed while doing her annual fund raiser on July 3rd 2021. Which meant she took a major emotional, physical and financial hit. She still has not given up. I support her and this organization and would encourage anyone that has the heart to help others to get involved either by donating money or time or doing both.

On Labor Day of this year, I decided to cook Liberian Collard Green as a gift for a friend of mine's birthday, who is from Liberia. While I was shopping for the ingredients at an African store in Chicago, Illinois. I received a phone call from my friend, who had connected with the founder of Relief, Inc. Ms. Dennis-Fortt, on the line. I informed her of the items I was looking to purchase. She provided me with other alternatives and stated that the Maggi cubes were needed for sure.

Ms. Dennis-Fortt told me I was a brave soul for attempting to cook this dish. The preparation of the actual Collard Greens was the hardest. I use an electric chopper to finely cut the greens. The day before cooking, I spoke with Ms. Dennis-Fortt, who talked me through the process, and informed me to call her back if I had any questions. I cooked the dish without calling her.

I realized where I made a mistake in the cooking process, I added too much tomato paste. I will make it better the next time by using less tomato paste. The Liberian Collard Greens was a delicious and filling dish. Enjoyed the food.

Relief, Inc a small non-profit organization among many, many multi-million-dollar non-profits. Our Relief, Inc. reminds me of the children’s book, “The Little Engine That Could” by Watty Piper. That little train says, “I think I can, I think I can” climb that mountain to get books and toys to children on the other side. Phebe Denis-Fortt, our engineer tackles each mountain of obstacles just like the little train engineer. Relief, Inc. works locally in Modesto, California and Internationally mainly in Liberia were Phebe was born and raised.
There have been many mountains to cross for Relief Inc since August 2003, but the one close to my heart is the Ebola Crisis in Liberia. Phebe’s mountain was the Ebola crisis that hit West Africa in 2014, our engine was the many local volunteers who helped in getting books, clothes and school supplies across the Atlantic Ocean for children in Liberia who could not go to school. Children who needed to study at home to keep safe. A 40-foot shipping container with safe items was shipped with the help of volunteers and donors who believed in, “I think I can” became “I know we can, I believe we can and we did it!”
As a volunteer who may never meet those children who benefited from this Relief, Inc project, I am proud to say our little organization runs like a big multi-million-dollar one when it comes to helping those who cannot help themselves. We may not have corporate dollars supporting our efforts, we have Phebe Dennis-Fortt and our volunteers who she has met along her life’s travels to take up the cause. We welcome all who come with BIG HEARTS!!!!!

When I first heard about Relif inc. I wasn't sure what the organization did. Once I asked the founder Phebe Dennis-Fortt what her organizaion was about and what her goals were things became more apparent. After identfying the specific projects and watching and monitoring their implimentaion I realized that this orgization is fully invested in both the local and international community. They focus on Women and children primarily with a secondary focus on men. In Northern California the focus is on the Homeless providing valueble notrition thru the Daily Bread Program. Which privides fresh bread to the homeless, Chuches and Schools. Relief Ic. gives out Turkeys to the homeless during the hoildays and Toys for Christmas when donations allow. As far as internationally I have watched Relief Inc. Sponser and orthange, Provide Medical supplies, food, books and much much more! This organzation is the real deal!

Relief Inc. is a great non- profit organization that helps with sponsorship and education for women, children and orphans. It has been a pleasure to be able to be a part of such an organization that has helped so many woman and children around the world. The crab feed, and fireworks fundraising have been both fun and beneficial to the disadvantaged women, children, and orphans in the community and the world. I look forward to helping in any way I can in its future goals.

I have been working with Relief Inc for the last 10 years. They have done so much work to help women and children in Liberia. Some of that work would consist of putting school and food drives together to ship out to Liberia to help those families. Along with that Relief Inc has put on crab feeds and other type of events to donate to the families in Liberia. Relief Inc has opened up my eyes and heart and to so much. It is a great organization to be a part of. The impact that they are making is absolutely phenomenal. There need to be more organizations like Relief Inc.

Christian Love B.C. has a Feeding program for the homeless and those who are hungry. Rain or shine we are outside with a full home cooked meal and RELIEF INC. provides bread and dessert to complete the meal. Every week they are cheerfully and humbly providing food. When needed they step in to help prepare plates or serve with compassion and without hesitation.

Before Relief, Inc. we were getting donations from a store. But they were not consistent. And would not tell us there were not any donations... they just wouldn’t answer the door when we went for a pick up. Now Relief shows up and fills the need every week. Praise God!

I had the pleasure of volunteering at the crab feed. It was by far one of the most organized events that I've ever volunteered for. Mrs Phebe and the organization are making it available for us to help communities that we normally don't have the resources or opportunities to reach. What better cause is there than to help women and children in impoverished countries. I have been a wiling volunteer for a few years now and looking forward to working with them for many more years!!!

The mission carried out by Phebe is unique and essential for the development of villages in Liberia. The help she provides from the initiatives she has initiated in the United States since its inception is, without a doubt, a grain that adds to the struggle for education and progress. My relationship with the organization began a year ago and since then, we have supported and served all Relief's campaigns on social networks. Seeing the impact and testimonies of the people she has helped so far has been, (and still is) an absolute pleasure.

Relief Inc. is a great organization that puts her priorities in the right place. When Relief Inc. was informed that the orphanage was potentially going to be shut down because the orphanage did not have a fence. Relief Inc. created “The Fence Project” at the orphanage. Relief Inc. provided the orphanage the resources to protect the kids and the property by building a fence. And House of Hope on the map of modern orphanages in Liberia. God for Mrs. Phebe Dennis-Fortt and Relief Inc. for the heart felt love and concern for the Children.

My name is Naomi Ashton and I have worked with Relief Inc. as both a volunteer and graphic artist for a year now. Each event that I have helped at was always a great success, but not without hard work from the awesome team! As with any social event, problems can arise but every situation was handled with professionalism and tact. I really like the fact that Relief Inc. donates their profits to help better the lives of children in Liberia, Africa. This organization has helped hundreds of children, and will continue to do so, but not without the help of the community. My business, 1st Class, has designed posters, tickets, flyers, and event invitations for this organization. Such work can be viewed on all platforms of Relief Inc.’s social media and my company’s Instagram account @1stclassprod. I am looking forward to helping out at the next upcoming event!

Relief, Inc. is a non-profit organization established in 2003 with a dedicated mission to help others locally as well as internationally. The founder’s vision is to make life easier for the most vulnerable in society locally and abroad by providing humanitarian aid to those that have suffered and experienced life from a hopeless perspective
The founder of Relief Inc. is from Western Africa and has experienced similar experiences in her own upbringing and as a result has a heartfelt desire to help others.
Phebe Dennis-Fortt the Founder of Relief Inc.is 100% committed, she will not give up. Her determination to help others gives her the strength to find the resources for financial support as well as finding the people to help make things happen. She is able to face discouragement and disappointment and not give up. Her faith in God gives her the strength to show others how they can improve their lives. She encourages people to have faith in God. Very few people are willing to make sacrifices in order to help others, Mrs. Phebe Dennis-Fortt is one of those rare human beings that is!
Working with her is an experience that more people should experience. It would help them to feel good about themselves and connected to humanity in a special Christian loving and giving way. If you know of someone with the means and desire to give financially or able to contribute in any other way. Relief, Inc. is it. Your time and/or money is the best investment a person can make. I would still be working with her had it not been for my health. I look forward to getting involved with Relief again soon.
God bless Relief, Inc. and its Founder Phebe Dennis-Fortt.

I have been in Relief inc. for a great amount of time of my life. I have seen and felt the generosity and kindness it has offered Liberia, Africa. I started out young and unaware of what I was doing. I started out buttoning up shirts and separating clothes. Later I found myself packing those clothes and other nonperishable goods into barrels and boxes to be shipped to Liberia. I was unaware of where it was going and who would receive it. Until 2006, when I took a big trip with the Container I helped pack. It was a long trip but I would say it was very worth it. I finally got my answers to my questions. Why I loaded up the Container and what was the fruit of my labor. I got see many liberians receive the food and clothes and other items from people who donated them out of the kindness of their heart. I gotta say Relief Inc. is a very small Organization but can do very big things. My story is just a small portion of a big story that will continue on with the help of others. Honestly I’ll give Relief Inc. 5/5 Stars just for their efforts alone.

I was contacted by Relief Inc. representative and the Liberia Director Aloysius Barr. In December 2004
Mr. Barr asked if I would join the day to day operations as a volunteer to help with the distribution of goods. I agreed and we proceeded to begin the work of trying to assist Relief Inc. with the clearing of a 40 foot container that had been shipped from California. Things did not go as expected but after many payments to officials of various organizations both public and private we were able to get the container released. One of the things that impressed me the most was the dedication of the Founder Phebe Dennis Fortt and her husband Ronald A.J. Fortt was there commitment, determination and passion about helping the People of Liberia, Particular during the Christmas holiday. Relief Inc distributed goods all the way up to Dec 23, 2006 just in time for people to have a good Christmas. I will never forget how people were shocked to have someone knocking on their doors and giving them food, clothing and medical supplies. This is an organization that I would rate 5 stars. With that said, Relief Inc. needs to help more people. I encourage anyone reading this review to volunteer! If you can’t volunteer please donate. They do great work and I am proud to have been associated with this organization.

My sincere greetings to you in the cause of Education form Totoa City, Lower Bong County, Liberia.

I write to extend my heartfelt thanks and appreciation to you as an organization catering to vulnerable kids for your level of assistance you are giving to my children. After I lost their father, you are the first person/organization ever to render this kind of assistance to them educationally, which have given me a chance to move around for my own education.

Presently, my two kids are in school after you paid their yearly school tuition, and bought their school uniforms. I am highly grateful to God for you and your organization.

Thank you so much for this great assistance and the opportunity granted me for my kids. I looked forward to you for future other assistance for these children and myself for the betterment of our lives. As a mother to them, I am presently in Grade 12th, trying to complete my high school education.

Hi My Name is Maier N. Goodridge and a Liberian. This review is about some of the work that was done in Liberia by Relief, Inc. (This is a truth eye's accurate information.) Relief doing the heat of the war in Liberia decided to help her people with so many issues, how can I do this, she asked. I am not on the ground but I think a litter bit of this and that will do. So Relief, Inc., moved in 2006 with a 40 foot container load of supply ranged from food, beds, medical equipment, medical supplies, cloth, and school supplies etc. Which was distributed to schools, hospitals and internally displace persons. Relief did not stop there she decided not just to give a man a fish but teach him to fish. Relief Inc., awarded scholarships to women to enable them to enroll in the tailoring a skills training program at the Maryann Cheeseman School of Home Arts. On Broad street Monrovia, Liberia. West/Africa. Student’s form this program today are now business owners and are providing for their families. Additional Relief Inc. provided Scholarships for young school boys and girls. Many other students benefited that were about to drop out of primary schooling if it were not for the donations that Relief Inc. made happen.
C.H. Rennie Hospital Healthcare facility in Kakata also benefited from medical supplies and beds, matters and medical beds. The Redemption hospital on bush road island New Kru town Monrovia which was host to most of the ill (IDPs) and has ran out of hospital beds this hospital rejected sick people because of lack of beds. Relief Inc. also provided beds, medical drugs and medical equipment. Relief Inc. also provided transportation for those items to get to the people on time.
With the challenges, rainy days and storms that Relief, Inc. has weathered. Relief Inc. continues to move forward where other missions have failed. There seems to be misunderstanding of the roll of the missions by people who have worked in Liberia with Relief Inc., and within the Liberian government where corruption seems to come from every end. Phebe has the needed knowledge and information to continue to make progress. Phebe is a strong woman with the heart of love for humanity.
As for the Financial Ministry in Liberia and corruption associated with it. It took someone with real dedication like Phebe to overcome one of the worst problems in Liberia’s history. Phebe did not give up she stood the test of time and made sure the 40ft container with Relief supply reached the most needy people in Liberia in 2006 and then again seven years later in 2013 during the Ebola crises.

The African Division of Relief Inc. has an office in Modesto Ca. Recently my children and I attended an International Festival in Modesto. We enjoy this event every year and each year the booth representing Liberia is one of, if not, our favorite.

It's educational with energetic representatives who gladly explain the display. They make it easy as the display is unique. There's more than a map and a list of important resources from Liberia. With rubber, diamonds, cloth, cocoa, and I'm sure I missed something all coming out of Liberia, this booth takes the extra step of putting on display each of the items. You can touch and read in detail about the contributions of the resources.

Not only is this memorable for the kids, but it shows the adults just how diverse and important a country like Liberia is to the world.

Kudos to Phebe Dennis-Fortt and the team out of Modesto involved with ReliefInc. A seemingly one day little event can really count towards increasing awareness when many add up and the individuals put forth the effort for each one. Clearly, that happened at our International Heritage Festival in Modesto, CA.

Thanks again guys.

Relief, Inc. Heal!

I want to first of all, give thanks to the almighty God for sparing my life and that of my family, form the outbreak of the Ebola virus in Liberia.

This was an in determinant and a painful situation that forced you to neglect your love one.

Special thanks to Relief Inc for affording my son the opportunity in going back to school, that is, by paying his school fees, I notice that Relief Inc is always at my door step giving me a helping hand where there seem to be no way.

After the 2003 – 2004 crisis in our country, Liberia, which cause us to lose our home and everything that we had.
I Started to sell porter (Clay) to sustain my family, we could not afford a meal a day just imagine that!

Do you know what it mean where your child cry for milk, you give him sugar water to drink, because you cannot afford to buy milk for him.

I kept myself hungry when people give me food, jut for my child to have something to eat, I felt that there were no hope in life.

Each night when I go to bed, I pray not to see the break of day, because I don’t want to see my child suffering, so many thing happened until 2006 - 2007 I got in contact with Relief Inc. God first, through the help of my son father Mr. Aloysius Barr, my living condition change, Relief Inc helped us with some Relief Item and started to pay my son school fees, that was when I regain my pride and dignity and also I regain my hope, Relief Inc really heal.

Where you are, you can also be a blessing to someone and God will reward you. give a helping hand to a child who cannot afford a meal a day, a child who does not have home, a child who wants to learn but no financial backing, an Orphan who wants to called you mama and daddy, and wants to be held in the arm of someone, who will say, I love you child, I am going to take care of you.

May the Almighty God bless you in all your endeavor as you continue to help the less fortunate in our society?

My name is Kwame Emmanuel Ross, i am Executive Director for Liberia Center for Labor Empowerment (LICLE). i use to work for the students of Liberia where i serve as President of the Liberia National Students Union (LINSU) ,the umbrella organization responsible for students in Liberia, it was at that moment i first came across the Relief Inc, on our landscape through its representative -Aloysius Barr. Relief inc, has gone deep into the lowest base of our society paying special attention to the neglected class which constitutes the orphans and women. before i became to work for the Government of Liberia as Assistant Minister for the Ministry of Planning & Economic Affairs, i can recall that Relief Inc, started as small seed in Liberian making small donations of food and nonfood items, but i can testify now that Relief has grown bigger in Liberia like a giant size tree in the forest that provides shelter for many.
With the multiple socio-economic problems that were imposed on us from the 14years of civil unrest, Relief has been very strategic in meeting the needs of the people of Liberia. the absence of food ,shelter and clothing compounded the complication our war torn country which made it appeal compelling for international organization like Relief to give practical attention. Relief interventions have been very critical and timely in addressing the nakedness, homelessness and hunger of our people in Liberia particularly women and children. Relief medical intervention during the period of EBOLA kept the heads of our people above the water of sickness and provided light of hope for those who were pressed under the shadow of death by Ebola. You provided books for students sitting in empty school building and meal for children left home hungry in search for education whose parent can barley afford a daily meal. your work will go a long way in history.
It is my prayer that many will pull resources and join Relief INC, in this struggle to ensure food, clothing, medication and other non food items are available, affordable, accessible, reachable and safe by making meaningful contribution for war affected nation weigh down by poverty. You will always be remembereded for the amount of lives you transform. MAY GOD BLESS RELIEF INC BOUNTIFULLY TO MEET THE NEEDS OF SUFFERING HUMANITY

It is sadly surprising how little we really know about what is going on in other parts of the world. I spent a great amount of time speaking with Phebe Dennis-Fortt about Relief, Inc and the work they do in Liberia. Then I saw the photos of the children so excited to receive their first book and their first writing tools and the pure joy and excitement on their faces just made my heart warm beyond belief. Then to see the hospitals they helped set up during the Ebola crisis, it really brings it all home to see it first hand in the photos. The work Relief, Inc. is doing not only in Liberia but also locally is so amazing and commendable. The world is a better place having Relief, Inc and the work they do.

I was practically homeless and jobless and they were gracious enough to accept me into their home without any reservations. Mr. Fortt, was kind enough to secure me a job at the establishment where he worked and he extended his kindness by getting me my first car in California. When news concerning starving children in Liberia reached them, they quickly embraced the responsibility of sending humanitarian aids to help those needed children. They have opened themselves in search a way that is beyond measure. Currently, many children are in school because of their generosity. I pray that God will enlarging their boarders so that, they can go beyond the walls of Monrovia into the rural areas where the needs are even greater. Kindly keep them within the confines of your prayers.

This note is intended to substantiate the fact that the non-profit, Relief Inc. is a vital asset, not only to the Modesto Community in which it is based, but to the world at-large. The attention this organization has given to the deadly Ebola virus affecting multiple countries in West Africa is a leadership role which epitomizes Relief Inc.

The efforts of this non-profit have put feet on the word LOVE, and brought it to the hearts of those in need, both domestic and foreign. Like the Good Samaritan, Relief Inc. determined that HUMANITY is suffering, and Relief Inc. has refused to pass by on the other side.

I have attended and supported several events formulated by Relief Inc. and witnessed the selfless efforts of this wonderful organization. They have certainly chimed in on the motto of my heart: they believe in "Serving God by Serving People."

Finally, Relief Inc. was recently nominated among more than 200 individuals and organizations, for the 21st Annual CrystalClear Award For Outstanding Community Service in Stanislaus County--selections to begin at the top of the new year.

Loving People,

Rev. Dr. Darius O. Crosby

Relief Inc is a great example of how a caring few can impact the lives of so many in need of the basic necessities of life. Over the past 7 years I have keenly followed the steadfastness and sacrifice of Mrs. Phebe Fortt and her organization as they, against overwhelming odds and uncertainties, identified areas of needs in impoverished communities in the West African state of Liberia, rally donations in funds and materials and galvanize volunteer to participate in the process of getting the relief items to Africa. I am particularly inspired by Mrs. Fortt's fortitude in ensuring that the relief items reached their beneficiaries even when the government of Liberia would lay huddles along the way. So many in Liberia admire the charity of the American people and have a profound gratitude for America because of the work Relief Inc has done and continue to do in Liberia.

Relief Inc. is an incredible organization that I feel honored to serve as a volunteer. My family has volunteered for Relief Inc. for some time now and can't say enough great things about the people and guests they serve. For us, however, what really sets Relief Inc. apart is the way in which volunteers are able to be involved. Every time we go, we bring people along, who then thank us again and again for introducing them to such an incredible experience. I highly recommend Relief Inc. and I salute their efforts!!

Hello! My name is Joanne and I was the Social Media Intern for Relief, Inc. over the summer. Phebe Fortt is a wonderful and inspiring person to work with. Even though I did not have any previous professional experience in the marketing field, she was very patient and understanding with me. It was wonderful being able to witness the impact this organization has created in the community. It really shows how hard work and dedication pays off in the end no matter how small your actions may seem. During my time as an intern, I learned about the history of Liberia and the hardships endured within the country. I also learned about the courage and bravery of the Liberian citizens. I really hope in the future I will be able to continue working with this organization. It has been a fulfilling and enriching experience.

Over 10 years of experience with this organization, carrying the vision forward helping impoverished women and children that endured a 14 ½ year civil war in Liberia. These are the people that need it the most with no hope of a positive future by means of educational supplies, tuition and training.

We understand how hard it is to deliver supplies and relief to those in need, we understand the challenges. We know what the obstacles are, and how to get past them. Relief is hope to the challenge!

My late father once said that "life was only worth living if you as a person become a channel of blessings to others" especially the less fortunate(adolescent mothers and children) to know that they have a dear friend like Relief, Inc. As a student of Social Work and professional field worker for the past three years having clients referred to Relief, Inc. in Liberia, their achievements are unmeasurable. The real importance behind their success is their willingness to help change someone else circumstance. I am proud of the accomplishments they have made, but when it all comes down to it, I hope the people of Liberia and history will remember them as a descent men and women who cared about others and living their lives trying to show it.

It’s true nobody makes it in this world alone. So to forget those that are helping Relief Inc. (partners, volunteers and even those kids that are giving their copy books and pencils, and medicals equipments for Liberia) it will be a disservice to those who raised those funds and materials and believed in Relief Inc. to delivered those things to the needed; not to tell them thank you for what they are doing for the children of Liberia through Relief Inc. You are highly appreciated by the people of Liberia. May God of heaven continue to bless your work in Liberia. Amen. F. Duonah Kezele / Liberia

When Phebe needed help shipping her container to Liberia. I did not hesitate to volunteer. Working day and night with Phebe Dennis-Fortt. She is the hardest working woman I know. the endless hours shows the dedication to her project. Her love and passion is amazing in which it also shows her commitment. It is truely awesome to see. Even her two 13 year old boys knows the business. I spent many hours with Phebe until the container was shipped off to Liberia. The challenges didn't stop there. Phebe is responsible and behind her project day in and day out. She even follows the container to Liberia. Durning my time spent with her. I learned more about her struggles and her families personal experiences. I was overwhelmed by her story I wanted to help more for the cause in West Africa. This charity is responsible for supporting women and childern of war torn Liberia through humanitarian supplies. I am so honored and grateful that I had the opportunity to donate and volunteer my time and efforts to Relief, Inc.

I participated in the Relief ,Inc program in High school and now I am a graduate of California State University East Bay. I love the fact that you can see the lives changed by the those who are less fortunate in Liberia. I will say being in the presence of Phebe and Ron Fortt is an experience in it's self. They are some of the most down-to-earth,humble and caring individuals you will probably ever come across. Phebe truly has a heart of gold and her passion to change those affected in Liberia is admirable! I remember loading supplies such as various school supplies, games, toys, and beds into the shipping containers. I had an excellent feeling knowing that the supplies we packed will bless those who truly need it. The day I volunteered, they gave us all a book called, "Think and Grow Rich" by Napolean Hill. That book LITERALLY changed my life and gave me vision for the first time! Since then, my life have been amazing and so many great opportunities have came across my way. I was appalled to find out that the Liberian government does everything it can to oppress its people, to keep them in such wretched conditions that their daily lives are focused on simple survival so they are not pressing for more freedom. I had the honor of meeting Phebe, founder of Releif, Inc. at a meeting where I heard her speak bravely, opening up about her and her family's personal experience in Liberia. It was so moving, I wanted to learn more and do what I could to help. I was fortunate to attend a fundraising event where she and her adoring husband spoke from the heart of the harsh reality those in Liberia face on a daily basis. They are true Humanitarians, looking past what is going on in their own home, city, even country they reside in and reach out to help those in true need. I think too often we focus only on what WE are going through when others are in a much more dire need. I hope to be of some assistance with their work. When my son gets older, I would love to involve him as well, introducing him to Phebe to learn that in the real world, we need to do what we can to help others, people we don't know, people around the world, because that it the right thing to do. I applaud Phebe and her tremendous, heartfelt work to help the people of LIberia, she is truly an inspiration to moral character and selflessness.

They have given me a new life by transforming my life, in taking me and my child out of a place where no one would like to live only because of the condition of my life; I had to live in the swamp for more than 28 years. Now today Relief, Inc. has changed my life into a new person.
I am presently living in a nice room with an inside bathroom. I was introduced to Phebe Dennis-Fortt, founder of Relief, Inc. at a local meetup group. I do online marketing for local businesses, and she had questions about setting up her social media accounts. From our first meeting, I was impressed by her passion and commitment to helping the women and children in Liberia. Working with Mrs. Fortt, I am learning more and more of her story, the history of her homeland, and the struggles her people face every day. One of the biggest needs right now is for volunteers to assist with the office work required to run this non-profit, or donations to pay for office help. Most of Mrs. Fortt's time is spent doing work that could easily be delegated to others. With support, she would have more time to grow Relief Inc so it can continue to help educate, encourage and give hope to women and children in war-torn Liberia. Relief, Inc. is also planning a trip to Liberia in 2013 to deliver a shipping container filled with donations of clothing, school supplies and medical supplies. In addition, they are hoping to have several incubators donated as well. Please endorse and support Relief, Inc. and help bring hope back to people who have already gone through so much.

I met Phebe through a mutual friend and became involved with Relief, Inc. right away. My family and I have attended her fundraisers, including a Liberian Independence Day Festival and our local International Festival that includes all ethnicities from around the world. I've watched as Phebe tells of her homeland, Libera and their struggles with poverty and educational needs. In December, Relief, Inc. gave out free turkeys to anyone who had a need. One of the proejcts Relief, Inc. is focusing on is a child in Liberia named Sekenneh. A little girl whose Mother can not afford good housing and is forced to raise her daughter in the swamps. In living in the swamps, Sekenneh's health has deteriorated to the point that she can no longer walk or hear. She is extremely ill. Relief, Inc. is concentrating their efforts on getting her the medical help she so deperately needs and efforts are being made to bring her the United States for medical treatment. Phebe is relentless in her efforts to aid the disenfranchised and is her own best asset. My family and I are committed to helping Relief, Inc. meet its goals of giving aid and support to the people in our local community and Liberia with an emphasis on educational and basic living needs in order to promote empowerment and independence. What is lacking in order to ensure the success of Relief, Inc.'s mission is, of course, funding.

I started contributing to Relief, Inc. many years ago to help children attend school. I saw the joy and concern in Phebe's face when she talked about helping the children, and felt the need to be part of such a caring organization. As Relief, Inc. grew, Phebe expanded the charity to include helping women learn skills to help them earn a living. Her passion for these women and children is quite evident to anyone who talks to her.

Money is tight right now, but I still donate to Relief, Inc. whenever I have any extra because I want to be part of an organization that helps people who need a helping hand.

Relief Inc. was the charity of choice for my high school students. They felt they were actually making a difference. We packed barrels and loaded an actual container with clothes and supplies for the people pf Liberia, Africa. We were later shown the actual video of the barrels being unloaded and supplies distributed among the Liberian people. Students claim to have recognized items they personally packed. Even more impressive is they saw the CEO Phebe Dennis-Fortt working hard and sweating while handing out the donations to the people. How often do you get to see a positive end result like that? Those students helped others, but working for Relief Inc. helped my students become better people.

Unfortunately I live too far away to be of great help to Relief, Inc. However, I admire the dedication of the founder. She is truly dedicated to the education, medical concerns, living conditions and financial liberation of the Liberian people, especially the women who have been oppressed for so long. She works morning, noon and night in her efforts to bring relief to the people suffering in Liberia.

I have never seen such tenacity, fortitude and love for any cause, emanating from one individual human being before in my life. Every day the founder wakes up with a fresh determination to make things better for the people in her native country.

Relief, Inc. has been a beautiful non-profit to volunteer for. The passion to help others runs strong in the veins of all its volunteers and it's founder Phebe Fortt. Just this December we were able to distribute canned goods, turkeys, and toys to over 800 local who were in desperate need. One wonderful aspect of Relief is that we work hard at helping both locally in Central California and globally in Liberia. It's especially such a gift to be able to help Tasama Elementary School in Liberia, the children who go there are going to have just that more of a chance at a better future. Relief, Inc. is such a unique and inspiring non-profit.

Flipping through my personal experienced of the civil war in Liberia, the brutal killing, murdered, and the inconsiderate raping of innocent women and misused of children as “Child Soldiers”, I can clearly piece together the necessity of the work and outreach of Relief Inc.

The disastrous massacred, the murdering of parents, the destruction of the country’s educational system, the water system and electricity, the economical devastations, as well as the looting of Liberia's resources have left people of Liberia hopeless and in a dying need of assistance.

We at Relief Inc have heard the dying cry of these people, the orphans, and the less privilege women, men and children wandering the streets daily in search of a hot-meal and a place to sleep. We are dedicated to their basic needs of water, food, clothing’s and shelter; as well as to their educational dream. It is indeed our mission to give back hope to the hopeless and encourage each one - that there’s yet hope after the darkest firing rain.

We understand that we cannot do this alone that’s why we are seeking your humanitarian gesture in assisting the needy.

Come join the team of dedicated warm passionate people and make a difference. CCDennis3

I persoanally know Ron Fortt and Phebe. Their passion for helping the people in need of Liberia motivated me not only to contribute but I know work with the United Nations Infopoverty Program where i will introduced anyone that may help Relief Inc. Also when I visited their beautiful home Phebe brought my wife and I out to the garage where there was wall to wall boxes earmark for Liberia. They've turned their home into a warehaouse and leave their cars on the driveway. THe least I can do is to support them.

I understand the mission of Relief Inc. of Modesto Ca,and I feel very comfortable with the organization. I know the donated clothes, non perishable foods and my volunteer time is helping those in need. I am very impressed with how the organization is ran and how it is clearly identified as to where the donated food products and clothing is tracked and makes it to where is is intended for. The organizations founder Phebe Dennis Fortt along with her husband Ronald Fortt have taken the time to vidieo the complete operation from start to finish as to how the products are loaded into containers and shipped to Liberia Africa. I have seen the videoa that have been shown at different gatherings at non profit events. I belong to several organiztions and this one is by far one that I will always continue to help in anyway that I can. I would encourage anyone that would like to join an organization to join this one as you will definitly fill very good about yourself as I do because it is definitly a proven worthy cause

Dream and pleasure working with humanitarian organization, Started in 2002 when Liberia was going through a serious civil problem-bulelts flying everywhere. Talked to Phoebe on the phone - gathered information to start the not for profit. no internet service in liberia - would be calling PHoebe with bullets flying. 2004, 2005, 2006 - first shipment to people destitute from the war. there were no fees charged - received and were so happy. That's when people of Liberia understood what he was doing and he can see the difference. The community of New Kru Town of approximately 20,000 people -impoverished- most of the poeple there go to the beach, fish and go to the market and sell. The illiteracy rate is high there - and the people are barely able to take care of themselves.

I met Phebe on May 8th of 2006 at the Soroptimist Best for Women Award Ceremony luncheon where she was awarded “Woman of Distinction Award”. I became a volunteer and donator at that time. I have spent many hours working with Phebe packing items in barrels that were shipped to Liberia in 2006. I have watched Phebe work so hard to help the Liberian people. Being around her has inspired me to do what I can to help this non-profit organization and will continue to help until I am not able to anymore. This Non-Profit Organization is so needed for the people that Phebe wants’ to help and I hope more people will do just that. Susan Aquino

R.E.L.I.E.F, Inc. is an incredibly ethical organization. I have personally seen that each persons donation goes directly into the program of their choice.

That said, I am very excited to be involved with Relief's efforts to not only help the impoverished in Liberia, but to educate women and children so that they are able to provide for themselves in the future.

There are currently a number of programs in place that really need funding. WOW is the Women Of Worth program. This program provides scholarships for women's trade education. The KIS program is Kids In School and it provides children with education, so important in a country that is basically starting over with very little infrastructure. Relief also ships donations of food, clothing and medical items to Liberia.

Relief is also helping those in need in the Central Valley of California. They are active in their US home base, delivering much needed food and supplies.

I encourage you to support this fantastic organization led by selfless dedicated people of integrity.

Phobe Dennis-Fortt is a force to be reckoned with. Her passion and love for the people of Liberia is contagious. When she speaks, the urgent need of her people spreads through the air and becomes a part of you. She believes in helping people one person at a time and getting it right. I am impressed with her leadership and direction and am honored to be on her Board.

I have been attending the Relief Inc.'s Crab Feed for the past 3-4 years. My daughter and her BSU organization in high school introduced me to this organization. Last year I decided to volunteer since I work part time. From the first Crab Feed I felt a need to do more for this wonderful organization and cause. Phebe works tirelessly with the various components of this organization. Her energy ignites me to work harder. I am proud to be a part of this organization and look forward to helping as many people as we can. Each one, teach one has always been my model and I feel that this is what this organization is all about.

My first encounter with Relief, Inc. was in 2005 when I worked for a small Christian television program as a host and I interviewed Phebe Fortt. Our friendship was instantaneous and when my job ended with the tv program I volunteered and created a fundraising opportunity for the Women of Worth (WOW)program by establishing chapters whereby groups or individuals can sponsor a women who is in vocational training in Liberia. I am also grateful for the leadership training facilitated by Ron Fortt whose program I have successfully implemented in my own life with great results. I love this non-profit organization!

I have worked with Phebe since the inception of the organization. Phebe is passionate about helping the people of Liberia. She has been relentless in providing different solutions for the people of Liberia. Watching her collect, pack and ultimately distribute the food, clothing and medical supplies in Liberia was truly inspirational. Watching her work with her local volunteers and educate them about the Liberian people has been stimulating for everyone involved as well. Phebe has changed lives with her activities both in Liberia and here at home.

I learned about the non-profit “RELIEF, INC” organization in 2009 when my family donated clothing to a campaign for the organization to go to war torn Liberian families. I have managed to keep in contact with the CEO and Founder since then and consider her to be a hard working, dedicated, and sincere individual. I personally enjoy working with the organization because of her strong spirit and motivation which has contributed much to the success of Relief, Inc’s objectives, goals, and accomplishments. Most of all, I was excited to learn that my creative abilities could be used to assist the organization in their efforts of helping the people of Liberia. I have been creating flyers in promotion of campaigns, events and celebrations in hope of whatever I create spreading the word of the struggles Liberians face locally and internationally. These struggles sometimes seem endless, and continue to bring tears to my eyes as they range from poverty and hunger to health issues and violations of human rights. Overall, I would give this organization the highest rating possible. I truly believe in its cause and strive to improve humanity. I hope the people of Liberia (especially the women and children) continue to hold their heads high and believe in a higher force than politics.
