research funded by the national institute of health to test a method to unambiguously identify correct isoform models for certain common mrna splicing patterns in genes that encode mrnas in multiple isoforms that current methods are unable to satisfactorly identify among alternative stuctures. A method of intoducing barcoded random primers in such a way that each mrna molecule is exposed to one and only one barcode. This should produce molecule-specific collections of barcoded cdna which should allow specific structural details of mrna isoforms on a molecule by molecule basis, thus solving the isoform model identifiabilty problem.
