Mission: Upper hudson planned parenthood is a community-based non-profit organization providing advocacy, education and reproductive health care services in the capital region of new york state since 1934.
Programs: Family planning services-uhpp offers a full range of family planning services and educational services. We provide comprehensive health care services for men and women of reproductive age including gyn exams and preventive screening, contraception info and supplies, sexually transmitted infection testing and treatment, cancer screening and pregnancy testing. All patients are given ample information by the medical staff to make well informed decisions about their sexual health.
abortion services-uhpp offers first trimester abortion services to women in the service area. Both medication and in-clinic abortion are offered. The service includes pregnancy testing, options counseling, referrals for prenatal care or adoption as desired. Patients that choose to terminate pregnancy are given an ultrasound for accurate gestational age, abortion and follow-up care. Each patient is given a full range of options to consider for birth control after the procedure is complete.
public affairs-uhpp participates in grassroots organizing, community outreach and education activities with the goal of empowering community members to participate in democratic action aimed at improving access to reproductive health care, comprehensive sex education and reproductive choice. Uhpp also participates in limited direct lobbying of elected leaders at the state and national level for the same goals.
