Causes: Health, Kidney Diseases Research
Mission: University kidney research organization supports medical research related to the prevention, treatment, and eradication of kidney disease. It awards the john mckay fellowship in renal research periodically to interdisciplinary investigators in university and research hospitals. Ukro continues to fundraise to fulfill its financial commitment to the joint usc/ukro kidney research center and its full staffing and operation.
Programs: Through its website and online social media presence, the organization raises awareness of kidney disease and renal research being done all over the usa and throughout the world. Through its e-newsletter, ukro spotlights the work of university researchers associated with current and previous grants and fellowships.
in december 2017, ukro held a benefit dinner to raise funds for the usc/ukro kidney research center at the university of southern california keck school of medicine. Ukro is committed to make annual grants for the foreseeable future to support the staffing of the center and to encourage its development into one of the nation's premier centers for renal research. Funds including proceeds of the dinner will be paid to the university of southern california keck school of medicine in 2018.
