Mission: University enterprises, inc. 's (uei) mission is to provide programs and services that enrich the sacramento state experience and support the evolving needs of the university community. Uei administers more than 500 research grants, contracts, and sponsored programs conducted through the university in partnership with state and federal agencies and resource programs in support of the university. Uei also administers food service, property services and bookstore operations on campus.
Programs: Federally funded programs:-us department of education funding supports a variety of projects benefitting sacramento state students including the mcnair scholars program which helps low-income and first generation students and under-represented groups to succeed in their undergraduate coursework; the college assistance migrant program (camp) which is designed to encourage the children of migrant farm workers to attend university; the institutional networks for (student) success (peer) programs and instructional redesign efforts (inspire) project which seeks to increase the number of graduates from underrepresented groups; and the student support services program for students with disabilities. -national science foundation funding supports technology and scientific related research and educational projects. For example, the explorations in high energy physics at the large hadron collider with the atlas experiment project and the sacramento math and science teachers project which provides scholarships and research-based professional development opportunities to potential math and science teachers. -department of health and human services grants support various health and biomedical related research and training projects including community-based research efforts. -a collaboration with the u. S. Geological survey to develop summaries of oil and gas well logs from publicly available well logs to assist in the development of conceptual models of hydrogeologic systems and identify the potential location of transport pathways. State & locally funded programs:-funding provided for the employment of students within state agencies and local governments for the purpose of furthering the students' area of study and providing them with valuable on-the-job training. -contract services provided by sacramento state faculty to the state of california and local government agencies such as assessment surveys and studies, appliance testing, professional development for school teachers, and the monitoring of spawning habitats in local rivers. -creative services provided to state agencies for the development of multimedia and print materials such as annual reports and items related to boater safety. University enterprises, inc's other programs:university enterprises, inc's program services benefits more than 28,000 faculty and students of sacramento state as well as the general populace. -develop and implement programs and publish training materials for operators of water treatment plants, water distribution systems, wastewater collection systems, and municipal and industrial wastewater treatment and reclamation facilities. -contract services provided to businesses and state agencies to provide archaeological technical and field support services, archaeological data recovery, and evaluation and surveys of archaeological sites.
