The Greenhouse serves an area of Sacramento that has more children per square block than anywhere in the county. They have a great Youth Center that is right in the middle of a large apartment complex. They serve children of many nationalities and give them a great place to play, study and enjoy supervised activities. Activities for elementary through the teenage kids include tutoring, leadership training, summer field trips. crafts and organized p;lay to name just a few. We are proud to be a donor and have the highest respect for the staff and the volunteers that serve dozens of children at the Greenhouse each year.

I love the GreenHouse. I have been a part of this organization since 2002. The GreenHouse cares deeply about the families in Gardenland Northgate community of Sacramento, CA. The witnessed an outpouring of love and support into the community. I have seen the volunteers and staff blessed by the community as well.

The GreenHouse offers a safe and caring environment for children and teens to go after-school and during the summer. Its mentoring, tutoring, leadership development and spiritual development programs are very well run by committed volunteers and staff. Youth love to be at The GreenHouse. They come back year after year and it's exciting to watch them grow and become all that God intended for them to be.

Entering into the warmth and energy of the energy on Monday afternoons is one of my favorite moments of the week, as the GreenHouse students greet me with unbridled enthusiasm. We sit together and read and try our best at adding fractions, we laugh and we celebrate when the light turns on in our understanding. This place, true to its name, is indeed a sanctuary for growth.

The GreenHouse has a specific purpose in the neighborhood it's in. To impact the families there and partner with them to help them succeed. I have had the privilege to be a small part of what The GreenHouse is doing each and every day. It's a large task that is never ending but the staff and volunteers are dedicated to the neighborhood and the families.

The GreenHouse is an outstanding organization. It is committed to working with the community to identify and help provide the resources its youth need to grow spiritually, emotionally, physically and mentally. Through the various programs offered (after-school tutoring, mentoring, summer day camps, a youth group for teens, leadership development, and skill-building workshops), the youth are inspired to reach their full potential and provided with the resources that will help them get there.

The GreenHouse understands that the future is in our children. We have been supporters since 2002 when The GreenHouse was launched in a low income Sacramento neighborhood riddled with crime, drugs and poverty. When my husband and I heard about Kacie Stratton's project to do something to help the 567 children living in a one-block area, we immediately made a commitment to become regular financial supporters of The GreenHouse As a former teacher, I am very aware of how important education is for all children, but especially for under privileged children whose parents are unable to provide them with the time, activities, and support that are needed to help raise bright, educated adults. The GreenHouse after school program for grade school, junior high and high school students has seen results such as students working up to grade level for the first time, intellectual curiosity stimulated by field trips that include everything from museums to baseball games to farms. The GreenHouse offers a safe place for children to go when school is out instead of having them wander around the area with no direction or supervision. Every year there is an auction and dinner where supporters get to meet some of the students that are in The GreenHouse program. What has impressed both my husband and me most is the enthusiasm and goal setting that these students have learned. Poverty will never be conquered in our country until it is wiped out with education. The GreenHouse is worthy of being called a Great non-profit because of the difference it is making in children's lives.

The GreenHouse is an amazing organization that is well-run and faithful to the vision God has given us for our neighborhood. Many incredible volunteers come to serve among the families who live in low-income apartments here. Often they feel a call to "help the needy" and when they do, they begin to experience the giftedness of the people they come to serve. It is truly humbling, and the board, staff and volunteers all feel blessed to be a part of what God is doing to transform this neighborhood one family at a time.

The Greenhouse is a wonderful organization that is committed to the growth and development of kids in inner city Sacramento. The Greenhouse first started as an after school program for elementary age kids and has expanded over the years to include after school programs for junior high and high school kids, leadership programs, and mentoring programs. The people at the Greenhouse truly care for every kid that comes through their doors and are constantly seeking to better meet their needs and the needs of the community. The Greenhouse is not only serving the community, but also seeking to equip the kids to step up and become leaders in their community.

The GreenHouse is a great organization that provides a safe and positive environment for children in an inner-city community. Students attend programs after school where they spend time with caring adults who help them develop their academic abilities in math, reading, and receive help with their homework. The GreenHouse provides students with resources (e.g. internet, art and school supplies, etc) that they may not have access to otherwise due financial constraints of the families. The GreenHouse is a safe-haven in the community, and is well-liked by both youth and parents.

The GreenHouse is an amazing community center that serves families by focusing on the educational, leadership and developmental potential of the children. The GreenHouse offers afterschool tutoring for through 12th grade, evneing "youth group" for the 5th grader through the teens, a leadership development program for the teens, and 2:1 mentoring for 5-12 graders. What sold me on the GreenHouse is the love the students have for the place and it's people. they love the field trips to experience snow for the first time, or to go camping for the first time, or to go ice skating on an outside rink; but they love more how the GreenHouse makes them feel. They light up when they arrive and hate it when programs end. I support the GreenHouse because I believe it is a fiscally-responsible organization that truly cares for children and manages to produce educational results.
