Mission: We provide innovative programs that empower adults and children with disabilities and special needs to live full and meaningful lives and provide programs that connect them to the community. We envision a world where disability is neither defining nor limiting. Provide direct program services which reflect compassion, respect, responsiveness, and creativity, to children and adults who display a spectrum of disabilities.
Direct beneficiaries per year: 1,100 children and adults, along with their families.
Geographic areas served: Fresno, Kern, Kings, Madera, Mariposa, Merced, and Tulare counties
Programs: Our programs are focused on a single goal: ensuring children and adults with disabilities have access to programs that have a positive and transformative effect on their lives. We serve individuals with a broad range of disabilities and special needs including cerebral palsy, autism, Down syndrome, traumatic brain injuries, and developmental and intellectual disabilities, along with their families. We also serve typical children with school readiness programs. We serve more than 1,100 people in 6 counties. Our children’s programs are centered on a comprehensive, holistic, family-centered approach. We emphasize parent training, with parents as “partners and first teachers.” These programs include: Early Intervention, School Readiness, Family Resource Centers, and a Family Empowerment Center. We serve adults as young as 18 years of age while currently, our oldest student is 84 years of age. We recognize our students have a wide range of desires and needs. We promote inclusion, access, independence, and opportunities for community engagement and life‐enhancing programs. Historically, our adult students are a segment of the population grossly under-served by engaging and stimulating programs. We are changing that reality.
