Mission: TweenPlace strives to mend a glaring hole in the safety net we are trying to provide for our children. While programs abound for the youngest children and plenty of emphasis is given to youth employment initiatives, the middle-school youth are grossly underserved -- at the very age when the most need supervision, structure, and guidance. TweenPlace creates programs that are both enriching and attractive to "tweens" -- and does so by avoiding the trap of combining tweens with younger or older youth for logistical convenience. TweenPlace is exclusively for tweens, designed and run by educators, psychologists, and youth workers who not only specialize in this volatile age group, but have found their passion in helping pre-teens and young teens "ride the surfboard of growing up".
