Mission: Tulsa Metropolitan Ministry (TMM) has been the primary organization devoted to ecumenical ministry in the Metropolitan Tulsa area since 1937 and the primary organization devoted to interfaith ministry in the Metropolitan Tulsa area since 1971. TMM's mission is to call together the ecumenical and interfaith community of Metropolitan Tulsa to bring about understanding and cooperation. TMM is an Interfaith Ministry that: promotes religious tolerance and religious freedom; fosters dialogue and nurtures mutual respect, trust, and cooperation in our relationships; advocates for racial justice and the fair and equal treatment of all persons; gives voice with those who are being forgotten by our society; and develops direct service for those who have an unfulfilled compelling need. TMM is an interfaith council of congregations of Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and Unitarian faith. A unique feature of TMM's approach to direct service has been the development and nurturing of programs until they are self-sustaining--when TMM forms a separate 501(c)3 organization and spins them off into the community as independent entities. We have done this with our Day Center for the Homeless, the Retired Senior Volunteer Program, Tulsa Senior Services, Youth Services of Tulsa, Meals on Wheels, and others.
