Mission: Ability Resources, founded in 1976, grew out of the need to provide free assistance to individuals with disabilities so that they can attain and maintain their independence in the least restrictive setting. One way this can be achieved is in the creation of an environment in which people with disabilities can exercise their rights to control and direct their own lives. This is accomplished through advocacy, education, and service to individuals with disabilities as well as the community at large. At least 51% of the board and staff of Ability Resources has a disability.
