Mission: The tucson festival of books brings together authors, publishers and the reading public in a family-friendly community event. Net proceeds of the festival are used to promote literacy in southern arizona.
Programs: The sixth annual tucson festival of books was held march 15 and 16, 2014 on the university ofarizona campus. Authors, exhibitors and book lovers of all kinds attended the festival whichattracted more than 130,000 people to the ua campus and raised $150,000 to advance literacyand education in southern arizona. The 2014 festival attracted more than 350 authors, 300exhibitors and staged a multitude of activities: the author's table dinner with 950 inattendance, hundreds of presentations and discussions, workshops for aspiring authors, booksignings, free book give-away distributed over 5,000 titles in the children's area, dozens ofhands-on activities conducted in science city, and much, much more. Over 1,800 festivalvolunteers assisted with managing the event during the weekend.
