Causes: Health, Health Support
Mission: To serve individuals with aphasia, their families and the community through innovative life participation approaches that maximize communicative potential and reduce barriers to social reengagement.
Programs: Treatment services: group treatments are provided to individuals with aphasia. Sample of sessions covered under this program: book clubs, aphasia day, back to work, lpaa, tbi groups, and social communication groups. The number of groups increased from 17 to 19 during the year, with an average of 6-8 individuals at each group for 46 weeks of the year; over 100 clients were served in this program weekly.
education & training services: tap unlimited provided training at area civic organizations, support groups, & agencies over the past year. These services included group programming to stimulate multimodal communication, reading and writing, as well as life engagement activities. Family/friends service division added learning to speak aphasia training every other month, as well as communication support team training.
community services: learning to speak aphasia for the community. This category also includes talks at civic organizations, legislative day, and any other advocacy & awareness programs. Tap unlimited representatives have been asked to speak at civic organizations (i. E. Woman's club; rotary, etc. ) a 30 minute presentation is provided monthly, currently at no cost.
