I have been aware of this nonprofit since its beginning. My wife was diagnosed with Lung Cancer in 2004 and was supported with a dedicated oncology staff for nine years. My wife and I were treated like family members of the staff. We became aware of the nonprofit "Stomp The Monster of NC" via one of the Physician Assistants. We were fortunate to have good insurance and did not need their assistance. However, we noticed what they were able to do to help others. The volunteers of this organization are dedicated and work without composition. I continue to support this important community organization. I know my dollars go directly to those who need them.
I'm proud to support Stomp The Monster NC. My mother lost her battle to cancer and a dear friend beat cancer, so I know how important STMNC is to our community. I know the time and money I spend donating stay local to those battling cancer. I will continue you to support this wonderful organization!
People going through cancer treatment struggle with more than hair loss and nausea. They confide in us nurses all manner of heartbreaking worries: how will I get to all these treatment appointments? should I pay my light bill or car payment this month? what do I give up so that I can get my prescriptions filled? STOMP the Monster NC offers our patients a hand and hope. It helps us help them, by providing financial assistance when it matters most, confidentially, without hassle. STOMP is run by volunteers--including one of our co-workers--motivated only by their compassion and empathy.
I found out about Stomp The Monster through a friend on the board. As a cancer survivor I was interested in learning more about how I could help. The thing about Stomp that interested me the most is they help people in our community. I know that all the money we raise goes straight to people in need.
Who takes care of the family when someone is undergoing treatment for cancer? Stomp the Monster is a resource for those families. If you have had family or friends who have dealt with cancer, you know that there are many demands on the family. Help those families by contributing to Stomp the Monster. It might be your family or friends who need the assistance some day.
I have always been pulled towards giving back in any way I could. As a cancer survivor myself, and after many years donating my time with other organizations, I found myself drawn to STOMP The Monster NC. I love our mission of helping cancer patients across NC with financial burdens, and that our Board Members are 100% volunteers and are truly dedicated to what we do. We have an amazing network of donors that without them, we wouldn't be able to continue our work. Always looking to add new members and donors to our team!
I am a Board Member with Stomp the Monster NC since 2012. My main position within the organization is that of Stomp Support Administrator. I am the first to review the application as they come to us. I see first hand the overwhelming need of helping Cancer patients with financial aide , and thus relieve the burden and stress of paying bills while they are trying to fight for their lives.
Stomp the Monster NC is 100% volunteer based, and we are 100% committed to helping . Through the efforts of raising funds and generous donors, we are able to continue our work. When we began in 2012, we assisted 3-4 patients a month, in July of this year we assisted 50+ patients . The need is ever growing. Our organization serves the State of NC.
Only through the support of our generous donors , is this organization able to achieve the continuation of helping Cancer patients in financial need.
What I love most about STOMP the Monster NC is that a little goes a long way. STOMP is able to have a great impact on cancer patient's going through treatment by helping with the most basic needs; gas, food, utilities and more. I also love that it is 100% volunteer-run.
I am a social worker at UNC Hospital. I cannot tell you how much Stomp the Monster has helped our patients going through cancer treatment. A major issue for a lot of our patients is nutrition and gas due to being far away from the hospital. STM are incredibly helpful and responsive. They are a wonderful comfort to our patients!
I am a Medical Social Worker at Carteret Healthcare Cancer Clinic in Morehead City, NC. Many of our patients are impoverished. Many lose jobs due to their diagnoses, or take large cuts in pay to follow treatment protocols. There is no short-term disability offered through the state or federal governments. All are victims of a horrible disease which can rob a person of basic dignity. Maintaining financial independence and continuing to pay increasing bills (which now include doctor's visits, scans, labs, and medicines) is extremely important. STOMP the Monster NC is readily available, kind, and prompt in the response they provide to our applicants. We appreciate their work, and we understand the need base for their services grows daily!
