Programs: In fiscal year 2017, treehouse served 2,000 unique teens through the following programs, amassing over 25,000 formal outreach contacts in the communities of bloomington, brooklyn park, chaska, mahtomedi, minnetonka, new hope, plymouth, and st. Louis park. Treehouse programs include:support groups (8,116 participants): in weekly small groups of peers led by staff and trained volunteers, teens receive and give support. Going deeper (8,964 participants): weekly going deeper meetings focus on educational and spiritual topics that address societal pressures and choices that youth face. One-to-one and small group (4,558 participants): one-to-one and small group connections develop positive mentoring relationships of support, friendship, and accountability. Growth groups (1,464 participants): small groups of teens and staff focus on customized topic areas of similar issues and interests. Trips and activities (2,731 participants): outings provide fun opportunities for youth to meet challenges, develop new skills, and strengthen relationships with peers. Family mediations: treehouse provides opportunities for teens and/or their families to work through their issues in a supportive environment and come to workable outcomes. Treehouse also made a large number of informal teen contacts in fiscal year 2017. Program format: youth programming takes place during after-school hours and weekends throughout the year. Scheduled groups are held on tuesday and thursday evenings, while activities and community service projects take place during the week and on the weekends. Treehouse's program to serve hurting youth has two key ingredients:caring relationship and balanced programs. Our staff are committed to walking along side youth through the ups and downs of life, providing consistent support and guidance. And our programs are designed to meet the many needs of treehouse youth socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually. From mentoring, to support groups, to the intensity of white water rafting, our program meets the varied needs of at-risk youth! Treehouse strives to achieve a variety of outcomes for the teens that we serve. The following is a list of outcomes that we are pursuing:-reduce at-risk behaviors-build healthy relationships with god, self and others-connect to a supportive christian community-graduate high school-pursue an educational or vocational track for their futureother accomplishments to note:-treehouse teens are 24% more likely to graduate high school than their peers. -175 students participated in an "opportunity fair" event to highlight post-secondary vocational and educational options. -over 150 youth participated in a week-long service project to help an impoverished community in the red lake reservation in northern minnesota.
