Mission: Trails 2000 is a durango, colorado organization providing connection to the outdoors for all. We build and maintain the trails, educate trail users and encourage connectivity on the road, path and trail by providing trail work and trails advocacy by enhancing community trail systems and educating the public, and encouraging a healthly lifestyle environment.
Programs: Trails 2000 has built, maintained and protected miles of quality trails and enhanced outdoor opportunities in southwest colorado. The organization is in southwestern colorado, volunteer-driven and serves countless residents and visiting trail users. Key linkages include bikepaths, underpass and road connections, providing trail signs, newsletters, website and emails, education and safety programs that encourage quality outreach for all public users of the community trail systems which include walking, running, biking and horsebacking users. Approximately 3,500 hours of service were volunteered by individuals working on the area trail systems. The volunteer time is valued at $77,000.
