Mission: The second baptist school foundation, is organized for the purposes of assisting and contributing to the academic, physical growth and development of the second baptist school, a private school founded in 1947 and situated in houston, tx. To this end, the foundation is empowered to solicit and accept appropriate gifts and bequests to be used to further such purpose, specifically including but not limited to the provision of financial assistance to worthy students of the school.
Programs: The athletic development project raised $372,000 in fy 2017 (over $3. 5 million from years 2015 and 2016) and spent $2,114,506. The money was used to build the athletic center.
the parents association is the second largest service program. It is a parent volunteer group that supports the operations of the school. Sources of revenue are $23,000 from the annual campaign and the net proceeds of the distinguished speaker luncheon which totaled $227,809. The parents association had expenses for the following: organizing the parent school coffee, providing the teacher appreciation lunches, purchasing coffee for the school workrooms, teacher christmas bonuses, salary increases, and printing the school directory. In addition, it is the umbrella organization that houses all parent volunteers.
the eagle athletic booster club is our third largest program. The eabc raises money to support the athletic programs at second baptist school. Revenues totaled $198,416 and came primarily from the following areas: memberships, concessions, merchandise, homecoming, spring swing, flight night, yard signs,. Net income over expenses was granted to the school athletic department to pay for uniforms, equipment and playoff expenses.
