Mission: To serve the san bruno community by investing in projects, programs, services, and facilities that have significant and lasting benefits. Through making grants, leveraging partnerships, and taking advantage of other resources, the organization assists and enables the community to maximize shared investments and realize their subsequent enhancements and benefits.
Programs: Through the crestmoor neighborhood memorial scholarship, the foundation honors the community members who most directly endured the destruction of the september 9, 2010, gas pipeline explosion and invests in san bruno's next generation of leaders. In 2017, the foundation awarded college scholarships to eight san bruno students who have demonstrated a strong commitment to the san bruno community.
as part of its strategic grantmaking efforts, the foundation identifies and proactively addresses specific community needs through investments in programs, projects, and community facilities. In 2017, the foundation awarded three strategic grants to the city of san bruno (for a community day event held in san bruno city park, the development of a community facilities vision plan, and the design and construction of a park on florida avenue) and one grant each to the capuchino high school alumni association and the san bruno education foundation to make music education a hallmark of san bruno's public schools.
the community grants fund enables local community organizations to apply for grants of up to $25,000 for projects and programs benefiting the san bruno community. In the program's first year, the foundation awarded 14 grants totaling $200,000.
