Programs: While we celebrated the twentieth anniversary of the new york international fringe festival in 2017, we also took a one-year hiatus from producing the usual festival. A lot changed since we first envisioned the festival in the mid 90's; so we started from a blank canvas: re-evaluating everything about what a fringe festival wants and needs to be in 2018 and beyond. The blank canvas project included convenings, conversations, and a public blog - connecting with all of our constituencies and working with advocates and partners and aligned organizations to create the festival of the future. The resulting three year strategic plan (fringenyc 20/20) rebuilds the new york international fringe festival in a much stronger, more sustainable way - for our next twenty years.
