Programs: Images and voices of hope publishes several stories a week on its website that highlight how the media is having a positive, meaningful impact on society. Instead of focusing on what's wrong with the media industry, (plenty of people and websites do that) the organization focuses on media that is strengthening people and societies. The website is also home for commentaries and discussion about the role of media in society.
images and voices of hope's program restorative narrative fellowships select fellows and provide them with a stipend of $2,500 to spend six months reporting and creating these narratives in various communities. Restorative narratives show how people and communities are making a meaningful progression from a place of despair to a place of resilience.
images and voices of hope holds an annual world summit of media makers in upstate new york that typically attracts more than 120 people from around the world. The summit is held over 4 days, featuring a retreat day and then small and large group sessions on various aspects of media making and exploring how media can be of benefit to society. There are typically film screenings, photo exhibits, live performances, and an award ceremony honoring media makers, who have done work that benefits society.
ivoh holds local conversations that are similar to the summit but shorter and focused on a particular city. These conversations are at the heart of our belief that it's important to give media practitioners an opportunity to reflect on their work and the impact it has. These have taken place in the u. S.
