Causes: Arts & Culture, Music, Performing Arts, Symphony Orchestras
Mission: To enrich the cultural climate of the loudoun county community by presenting a series of adult orchestra symphony concets, and by supporting the training of student musicians (see schedule o).
Programs: Loudoun symphony orchestra subscription concerts - we provided a series of 6 full orchestra concerts in several venues throughout loudoun county. The orchestra has approximately 65 musicians of which 10 are paid professional players.
loudoun symphony youth orchestra concert season - the lsyo provides opportunities for local high school students to participate in a full symphony orchestra, led by a professional conductor. Participation is by audition, and subject to an annual tuition fee. Lsyo presents three concerts each year, including "ensembles for everyone" a special concert geared to deaf or otherwise handicapped individuals.
in-school concert series - we presented a series of 4 educational concerts in loudoun county elementary schools, featuring a group of typicaly 4 or 5 lso musicians. The concerts were provided free of charge to the schools, so we receive no direct revenue from these events.
