Mission: To provide a supportive, communal environment for lgbt adolescents in foster care, regardless of race, ethnicity, gender, age, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, immigration status, mental, or physical ability.
Programs: The lgbt sanctuary palm springs is a california state licensed transitional housing program plus foster care (thp+fc). We provide a safe, supportive home for lgbt foster youth and their straight allies 18-21. At sanctuary palm springs residents gain invaluable skills for a successful life as an adult. Our residents are required to be either studying for their ged, erolled in college or vocational school, or working minimum of 80 hours a month. The home environment is supervised 24/7 by skilled individuals who help guide the residents toward the independent living skills most need. Currently we have the maximum residents that we can accommodate in our existing home (6) and there is a waiting list.
