My three adopted children receive services through Hoofbeats for Hope. My children are 7, 9, and 10. Because of their traumatic history, we struggle with behaviors and emotions, including poor self esteem, dysregulation, and anger management issues. From my first contact, this program has provided so much support for my family. During the intake assessment Nicole was very thorough, taking the time to really listen and ask follow up questions. We worked as a team to pick the right goals for the kids. During the weeks following there was frequent contact updating me on the process and asking for additional information. During this time I expressed my concern about being able to afford the program for my kids. As a single mom, these types of programs, which are few and far between are often unaffordable. There was discussion about whether I would have just one child attend. Ultimately Nicole made it work and got all of my kids into the program. In early August my kids were paired up with a mentor and a horse . The pairings were perfect. All three kids look forward to seeing their mentor and their horse every week. They are learning to plan their time with their mentor. They look forward to the different activities they do with the mentors. When I pick them up, they are always talking with their mentors about what they plan to do next week. I hear new information about caring for horses every week on the way home, all of which have general life applications. I honestly cannot believe we have 9 more months of this. I can only imagine the impact this experience will have on them.
As a volunteer and local philanthropist, this program is such an asset to the local community and the children and families it helps. It’s not often that you find such an outstanding organization that is led with passion and professionalism at the forefront. I look forward to supporting this organization for years to come.
I’m a volunteer for Hoofbeats for Hope Inc. This is my first time volunteering. Once I knew more about the program and the benefits to children, youth, and families I could not sign up fast enough. Seeing youth light up when they connect with a horse is priceless. They confidence level rises and they stand taller. I highly recommend this program!
This is my first time being a mentor for this wonderful program. I’ve always heard that horses were good therapy for kids. Seeing how this program is designed, I can definitely see the benefit of a good relationship between horse and child. I look forward to my journey with this very needed program.
What an amazing program for children. I am so humbled to be serving these children in such simple, yet profound way. I look forward to watching this program flourish so it can reach even more children in need. And I look forward to continuing to be a part of it! Thank you to Nicole and Steve for opening your hearts and ranch to us all in the program!
Southern California is blessed to have such an incredible organization now in this area. Steve and Nicole are the heart behind the facility and their passion, dedication and heart for this much needed resource has been evident since the beginning. I have been fortunate enough to watch them pour their blood, sweat and tears into bringing this dream to life and can't wait to see what all the future holds for such an incredible mission and team.
As a community member who has donated supplies, I got to watch and experience the program first hand. The mentors are patient and attentive, the animals are great and so aware. This is such a needed program in the community and I can see how the children enrolled will greatly benefit. Proud to support HoofBeats for Hope!
Great group of people with excellent ideas and programs. This is my first year as a mentor and I am very excited to be a part of the program they are doing for foster and adopted children. It's more than just kids playing with horses, the Equine Assisted Learning program they run helps to build confidence, improve social skills and build relationships through basic horsemanship and other fun activities with their mentor.
This is the first year for me to have the privilege in becoming a mentor for foster children. This program provides a safe environment for foster children to grow and become confident in themselves. The program provides the foster child to have their own horse throughout their involvement in program. It teaches them to care, respect and create their own special bond. It's not just a ranch with horses it provides many other activities for the foster child to take part in (example: art projects, journal writing, outdoor sport activities., etc.) It has truly been a great experience watching the foster child grow as person and them wanting and looking forward to their next visit.
Hoofbeats For Hope Inc is a non-profit organization that helps foster and adopted youth build confidence and heal through equine learning at the Reset Ranch in Murrieta. The people at the ranch have incredible hearts and so much passion for helping these affected youth. The program matches one child to one horse and one volunteer mentor for a 10 month period. In teaching the children to care for the horses, it also teaches responsibility, trust and connection both between the horses and their mentors who are trained and vetted rigorously to work with foster children. Many of the foster youth are not able to afford the tuition required, so the program relies on the generosity of our community to provide this much-needed program. The smiles I've seen on these kids' faces after just one week in the program are inspiring and I can't speak highly enough about the program Hoofbeats For Hope Inc offers or the owners themselves.
I've had the exceptional opportunity to serve as a board member and work as a mentor with Hoofbeats for Hope. It is an equine based learning program for foster and adopted children. I'm mentoring one child and paired with one horse for 1 hour a week for 10 weeks. The child is not only building a relationship with myself but with the horse. The excitement in the children's eyes when they meet their horse for the first time is so heart-warming. However, when the horse remembers them time and time again as they return each week, it is some empowering and their bond grows even stronger.
I'm seeing such great growth in their self-confidence, self-worth and trust in others. What a great program to be involved in.
I have been blessed to be a part of this wonderful program that comes along side foster children and their families. A mentoring program for foster children that opens up a world of learning about and connecting with horses. Horses are animals that are aware of their surroundings and are looking for a leader through a connection that is based on trust. Like children in the foster program who are also in need of leadership, love, connection and trust. All too often these children are forgotten and passed from home to home. I see hope for so many kids and their foster families through this unique partnership to mentor these kids and open up a world of horses too! The financial needs to serve this population is great and Hoofbeats for Hope is filling in where the gap is wide and the needs are great.
