Mission: Enhancement of public awareness of musical arts
Programs: Organized and produced several concerts and promoted the musical arts locally. In doing this, two local higher education institutions provided the organization with the use of several facilities to help carry out the organization's mission. Texas a&m international university provided the use of its recital hall rent free for several concerts and technician services that would otherwise have cost $6,400. 00. Tamiu also provided an office space from where administrative activities were performed rent free that would otherwise have cost $31,200. 00. In addition, the laredo community college also made the use of its recital hall free of charge for two concerts that would otherwise have cost $3,000. 00.
rising star program - each year the lpo sponsors a concert for young people featuring child prodigies from around the country. The idea is to inspire a generation of young people by showing them what their talented peers (musicians of roughly the same age as the concert attendees) have accomplished through dedication and hard work.
