Mission: Muscoot farm, a westchester county park, provides the residents of westchester county and the surrounding area recreational, cultural, and educational activities, with the main thrusts being farm life, conservation, and to preserve the land. The friends of muscoot, inc. Provides supplemental funding for the farm.
Programs: See schedule omany educational and recreational programs are conducted for the public throughout the year and are funded by the friends of muscoot. These range from educational programs such as crafts like soap making to wildlife programs such as bird and butterfly walks. The friends purchase pumpkins and sell them as the major activity in two major weekend programs in the fall as fund raisers.
this year, the friends of muscoot decided to expand our fundraising ablility by reaching out to the public for membership. An event was held in september to kick start the program. People may join at a variety of levels ranging from individual at $30 to friend of the farm at $500. As of the end of 2017 some 50 people have joined by contributing a total of $5,260.
