The foundation's board president, susan sadler warmly greeted guests as the smooth sounds of live jazz permeated in the background. In addition to the delectable hors d'oeuvre and dinner, the event featured a bountiful harvest of over 200 silent auction prizes, 12 live auction prizes, 20 fisherman raffle prizes, live auction raffle, and highly anticipated wine pull. Fall golf classic $27,323 netwhile the tournament technically occurs in late summer, the golfers in the 2016 fall golf classic were welcomed to wiltwyck golf club with cool autumn temperatures and a beautiful sunny day. To ensure that each of the participants partaking in the fundraising event were knowledgeable about the arc of ulster-greene's mission and work, poignant yet fun reminders were infused into the event. From hand painted golf balls to mission markers, golfers were given a chance to learn a bit more about the people who are supported by the arc of ulster-greene and how their lives have been enhanced as a result of the mission of the agency. The top three foursomes each took home handcrafted mementos that were generously donated by artists supported by the arc of ulster-greene. These uniquely handcrafted mementos included beautiful golf motif stained glass storage boxes for first place, whimsical mounted clay monster statues for second place, and original framed art for third place. It was more than just a dinner to recognize local men, women, and businesses, but also a dinner to recognize the journey of the arc of ulster-greene over the past 60 years. During the dinner the guests were shown a video to meet david burrows, a man who, with the help of the arc of ulster-greene, was able to realize his dream of becoming a homeowner. This video and david's story represent the future of the organization. It highlighted the innovative and effective programs designed to foster independence, productivity, and participation in community life. Wine and dine wine pairing dinner $10,167 netour annual wine and dine dinner started off the year as our first event to occur in 2016. The sold out event was held at frank guido's little italy, a local restaurant in kingston, new york. Attendees were served a delicious four course dinner to pair with wine with tim sweeney, a local wine expert and owner of stone ridge wine & spirits. Our agency's day habilitation wall street program, green thumbs planet shop, provided us with beautiful, one of a kind plant arrangements for center pieces. These arrangements were sold at the end of the night to the guests. After guests indulged in fabulous food and wine they were introduced to the wine & dine chairperson, scott herrington. Scott engaged with the audience to auction off four extravagant items. Winners walked away with prizes such as a catered dinner and a royal caribbean cruise. We hope to continue expanding this event and to continue bringing in a high number of guests. This event helps to increase community awareness and raise funds to support the arc of ulster-greene's mission of offering people with intellectual and other developmental disabilities opportunities to experience and live a full life.
