Through these local initiatives, TxPEC will raise public awareness and expectations for individually-directed end-of-life care, and improve and enhance professional knowledge and practice in end-of-life care. Efforts are directed towards professional and community education, building partnerships, and promoting best practices. In the first 18 months of operation, TxPEC has trained more than 400 professionals in AMA developed EPEC curriculum and formed 12 local and regional partnerships throughout Texas.
