Mission: To reduce the devastating toll of cardiovascular disease through innovative programs in research, education, and improved patient care. Basic clinical research is performed in all specialties of cardiovascular disease, including cardiology, cardiovascular surgery, anesthesiology, pathology, and cardiothoracic transplantation. Education involves the training of medical residents and fellows in cardiovascular specialties as well as continuing education for medical doctors and educational information for the public.
