Causes: Neighborhood & Block Associations
Mission: To provide assistance to tempe residents which enables them to safely age in their homes.
Programs: Tempe neighbors helping neighbors continues to be a reliable source of support for older adults in tempe to maintain self-sufficiency and physical and emotional well-being as they age. In the 2017-2018 fiscal year, tempe neighbors helping neighbors increased the number of completed services to seniors in tempe by more than 10% over the prior year, from 2141 to 2372. We continue to see transportation as the greatest need of our members. In fact, 48% (1140) of the completed services for the year were providing rides to medical appointments, shopping, and other personal needs. Social visits to our members totaled 24% (572) of the overall services we provided, and handyman services (264) and pet care (200) each accounted for about 10% of what we were able to do. The remaining 8% of services we provided include yard work (98), tnhn back office assistance (71), and technology help (27).
