Causes: Arts & Culture, Music
Mission: To provide access to student-centered, culturally-relevant music instruction and instruments by connecting, convening, and catalyzing a diverse community of stakeholders.
Programs: In our pilot year, colorado music coalition dba take note colorado conducted a feasibility study and supported five school districts through new and repaired instruments, culturally-relevant, student-centered teacher training and curricula resources and music instructor stipends for out-of- school classes. The pilot districts, aurora, grand junction (mesa d51), la junta (east otero), morgan county and roaring fork, were selected for their geographic diversity, size and student demographics. Take note collaborated with other service providers and community organizations to provide access to musical instruments and instruction to colorado's k-12 students and launched an online match-making resource for colorado teachers and community members to support one another with classroom music needs.
